Amazing Chris Gamble Stats

Recommended Posts

I feel that if Gamble was playing with the Giants and their pass rush then he would have led every stat, plus a few more int's. That said, we need to get a formidable pass rush. Believe that RR has to go to bat for Garay and for Hurney to pursue him. I see us drafting a DE and S in first two rds. Those that are pulling for a CB........Hogan will prolly be the number 2 corner next yr. I see us grabbing Barron and moving Godfrey back to FS.

Agree, can't wait to actually get some pressure on the QBs.

Not taking anything away from Gamble, he has been great this year.

But I think this has a lot to do with our other CBs.

That's why they used QB rating. It's a qualitative stat as opposed to a quantitative stat. Don't believe for a second teams wouldn't hesitate to go to their primary receiver if they felt he was open.

That's why I said 'not taking anything away from Gamble.' I realized he had a great year.

But we can't act like the poor CBs playing alongside him had nothing to do with those stats, especially the first one.

It had nothing to do with the second one, because you could argue if he had another good corner-back playing beside him that those stats could potentially be better.

That's why you see both Nnamdi and Asante up there.

I am sure that playing with bad CBs like we do can effect that second stat as well. Teams don't target Gamble as often so when they do they have to be more accurate because there aren't as many chances. The rating is based off attempts. You could argue that as well, it works both ways.

I am with you, Gamble did great this year but those numbers have to be a bit inflated when you consider the CBs that played with him. That's all I am saying.

Well I do agree with you that the targets was so high because of the piss poor play of anyone on the opposite side of the field of Gamble.

    • USA vs Germany today 3:10pm. Mens schedule:
    • It is like when you go to da buffet at da Golden Corral and dey have all dis food and you get the same thing every time.   There is probably something you would like more, but you go to da same ol racks and get da same ol food every time.  Not sure why I am writing in trailer park dialect, but hey, watcha gonna dooo.
    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
