A New Living Hell

Jury Duty. Now don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to do this once. But the timing sucks right now. As an accountant, this is my busiest time. But I'm here and have no control over it.

We are locked in the corner of the courthouse. We have a one channel TV. We cannot leave until lunch (12:30) and afternoon break (3:15). I'm dying for a cig right now. But the hell part is the God Damn coffee machine is broken!!

Fu<k you local government. You can give us TV, free WiFi, computers, and even a game room.

But no fu<king coffee??

Are you kidding me??

No currently elected local official is getting my vote this year.

Bastards!

Yeah, it sucks... last time I was on jury duty was 2000 and I wasn't working for myself then, so idgaf... now it would suck donkey ass to have to miss much time. Too busy...

One of my (only 2 other than me) guys working here got a summons two years ago... I wrote him a letter asking for him to be excused due to our small business and workload and they would only defer him, not excuse him.

I don't mind doing my civic duty, but it shouldn't be such a big burden.

Skew, if you have to go back tomorrow, take a thermos off coffee with you... :D

I almost did. I didn't expect free WiFi, free computer access, 2 free movies, free popcorn, nor a game room.

But I Expected Coffee!!!

I'm a high school teacher and basketball coach and was called once right in the middle of the season. At the time I was also doing some contract work with DPI, so I was slammed to say the least. I asked to be deferred, and I was....

I was called back during my freaking SPRING BREAK.

Gah!

    • Also confirmed that Andersen was injured and not 100%. Said he could've kinda played but really can't do that this time of the year.
    • Rod kinda confirmed that Staalsy is gonna retire. Called it a great ending to his story.    Glad for him to go out on top with the cup and conn if true.
    • Every union, union adjacent, or union tangent organization does this. They prey on dumb employees  who think the union is there for them instead of the mob or some other social-politically entangled arse. Always degrades the product and indeed the price of that product too. Then money flowing up to people with 0 to do with anything about the product. Its the most simple protection racket and oldest in the book yet people are still sub 70 enough to think it matters for anything other than making money for the racketeers.  I mean this is on their Wiki(yeah i know wiki) The NFL Players Association is the labor union representing National Football League players in matters concerning wages, hours and working conditions, and protects their rights as professional football players. So instead of the player doing that with his own agent which is why you have a fkn agent lol. So they are pilfering money from the player twice. Agent then NFLPA The standard annual membership dues are approximately $15,000. While players are not legally obligated to formally join the union, those who choose not to are generally still required to pay a mandatory service fee equivalent to union dues. Can't take anyone seriously when they talk up unions and since the mob is involved that's why you get those refs doing NFL ref poo. You can even hear former mob Michael Franzese just open admit this now that he's out of prison and making YT videos.(has been for years now)
