So Right now...Peyton or Eli?

I still think there is something to be said about consistency from the regular season into the playoffs. To me, that is what separates Brady and Manning.

And just for clarification purposes, so no one thinks I'm nuts or anything. I was never (nor am I) suggesting that Eli Manning is better than his brother Peyton. I was simply implying that the gap that everyone deems so big is not as big as perceived.

There is something to be said about playing at your best in the playoffs. It can't be discounted. Just like playing great in the regular season can't be discounted, because that is how you get there. That's all.

i dont think you are nuts, i just dont agree. i would agree if Eli Manning was consistant, but he missed the playoffs last year completely as the starter and he still has to go to another super bowl and win it which wont be easy in my book either. i just think Peyton is a better QB in their prime. Eli isnt bad or anything, but i just think Peyton is better.

Eli now because Peyton is possible done.

In the postseason

Peyton: 435/692 63% 28tds 19ints 87.6 rtg W/L- 9/10

Eli: 157/258 61% 14tds 8ints 90.4 rtg W/L 6/3

BTW, Peyton was 3-6 in his first 9 playoff games.

Those are skewed a bit in context.

Eli Manning:

2005-06 Playoffs: On the team that got blown out by us, 23-0. One-and-done. 10 of 18 for 113 yards and 3 INTs.

2006-07 Playoffs: On the team that got beat by the Eagles, 23-20, with Jeff Garcia starting in place of McNabb for the Eagles. One-and-done. 16 of 27 for 161 for 2 TDs.

2007-08 Playoffs was the Super Bowl year. 4 of the 6 wins came here.

2008-09 Playoffs: On the team that got beat by the Eagles despite homefield advantage. One-and-done. 15 of 29 for 169 and 2 INTs and 0 TDs.

2009-10 Playoffs: Missed the postseason entirely.

2010-11 Playoffs: Missed the postseason entirley, but they were 10-6 so whatever.

And now he has won twice this year. All his postseason victories has come in two seasons.

The reason why we are even in this convo is because the of way Eli won compared to how Peyton won their rings. The Giants were underdogs and won on a last second drive while the Colts where heavy favorite and the Colts did what they were expected to do. Outside that postseason and now, Eli has been worse than his brother.

Trying to figure out how doing it in two seasons is a negative and not a positive...

WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT. SO you ELI homers are saying if healthy Payton was on the Giants right now that they would be playing worse?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You haven't read post #29.

I did. I said that his playoff consistency wasn't great as you are implying. Hence the 3 one-and-dones with him playing horrid in two of them and average in the other.

And he hadn't finished this one off yet. For all we know, he could pull a Brett Favre and throw 4 picks next week. :)

yep, i agree. it's like i said, Eli isnt bad. i think he's a really good, maybe great QB, but he's not elite like i think Peyton is when he was healthy and in his prime. Eli is playing great right now, but in their prime, Peyton.

So you also caught the part were I wasn't saying Peyton is better too right?
