Pass Rushers - 2nd Round DE

Ingram from SC could fall.

Andre from Clemson should be there too.

Ingram has absolutely no chance of making it past pick 30, unless he suffers a major injury. Most likely a mid 1st rounder.

Branch will probably be there, but I'd rather have Jones. I think he has the best raw talent, he just needs a good coach.

DPM motor has never been in question.he needs a coach and players around him like Rivera and co. the talent is there.

Your obviously not a UNC fan and have never seen him play. He was a highly touted prospect before the season, but had Kareem Martin start in his place. Before UNC's recent bowl game he went on th record and ripped his teammates, coaches, opponents, and even the bowl city. That tells you everything you need to know about him.

I think this draft will be a great indicator on how many looks Rivera wants of the 3-4 defense. A 4-3/3-4 hybrid defense is the way of the future given the rule changes over the past couple years with covering receivers. Pass rush from a 4-3 and size and physicality of 3-4 linebackers allow teams to stop pass heavy teams like the Saints and Packers. I'd have no problems with us taking a Demarcus Ware type of player to fit the role of a physical pass rusher.

That's a good question. I pondered this.. and only found 1 OLB in that mold in the 2nd round. Ronnell Lewis. I could see us taking a Courtney Upshaw in the 1st round though..

Right now he's my #2 prospect, behind Brockers. He's a very good pass rusher, which, IMO, is our biggest deficiency on defense, and he's very good against the run. The thing is, he's big and strong enough to play DE in a 4-3 and athletic enough to play OLB in a 3-4. So no matter what look we have, he'd have a role.

I would really love to get a good DE in the draft, Hardy has been decent but we want great.

I don't think you'll honestly find anything great in this years draft unless your talking about the first round which I think would be unnecessary to waste a pick on.

A guy like Whitney Mercilus from Illinois or Ingram from USC that could slip like we have all seen before. I like either of those guys to be a good rotational player with Hardy. But like I said I don't see any Jason Pierre-Paul's or Matt Shaunnessey's.

CHandler Jones is an athletic freak with poor coaching. He has a ton of untapped potential just due to his poor technique.. if we have the coaches to teach him proper pad level and hand placement.. this guy will be a Pierre-Paul or Justin Tuck type of DE... the good thing is, that he is a beast in run defense already even with poor technique. That is the one spot that Hardy needs major improvement on is run defense. So we could bring Hardy in on 3rd downs until Jones improves his pass rush skills. Just a thought.

not a fan, but i have seen plenty of UNC games. his motor is not a question, being a bad teammate maybe but motor no. he does go 111 mph even when he doesnt have a helmet on. yes he did rip all of those people but that is a maturity issue which RR and the team will not accept and can handle.

Flawed logic at it's finest. I don't know why every fan and even some coaches think they can change a player. At some point you have to remove a player completely of your draft board. Donte is one of those guys.

I'd love to have him, can he block FG's?

He's the one the prospect I find interesting and the only things I've heard about have been on this board. I look forward to seeing him at the combine.

that flawed logic is why this team took a chance on Hogan as well as Hardy. talent is what matters, you want good football players not choir boys.

i guess coaches didnt think they could change Albert after he stopped on a dudes head either.
