The average flag formation has six guys going out

My approach when there are that many guys going out is to try to give the QB an option at every level (short, medium, long, safety valve) with an extra guy or two at the level the play is designed for. That, plus arranging the routes so that - as often as possible - I'll have at least one guy kind of off to himself in single coverage.

I imagine the approach at the semi-pro level might be similar.

haha no but I wish it were that simple. It's standard 11 on 11 sadly with NFL rules so 15 minute quarters and all the penalties.

Oh I figured that. Just talking about principles of play design.

My ideas aren't what this thread's about, though. This is about you.

Got a feeling you and soreness are going to be on very good terms as the year goes on

Dude it was horrible I had to take one for the team last night I was the only one without pads in my pants .. none at all just so everybody else had some. I took one hell of a shot on a QB sneak also. Like omfg. OWWWWW. I got up hopping and I was like no mam not going down like that. But, I woke up this morning and it looks like barney the purple dinosaur took a dump on my knee as well as the rest of my legs. Those suckers were going at my legs hard when they saw I was padless. My helmet is also like 2 sizes too small. I got a nose bleed during the 2nd qtr just from it squeezing my head :p

They said they should be able to fix me up for the next game but I think most of the pain compared to the first game is behind me.

It's been a while, but I remember those sorts of feelings. One or two of them still come back to visit me once in a while

Playing through those sorts of things is what gives you the grit you need when the larger moments roll around, those times when everything is on the line and you have to come up big.

That, plus some of your most painful moments often evolve into some of your best stories

Well guys we bounced back in a huge way saturday. We took on the north georgia gladiators, a non conference team that payed us to play them for their (youth night) basically like a we are gonna rape you so we have some crappy event to go along with your ownage. We silenced the crowd big time in this game edging out the win 21-14.

We ran back the 2nd half kickoff as well as a pick 6 and a 12 yard run to seal the win in the 4th. The guy I had to block most of the night was 6'8 375. At 5'9 -10 230 that was quite a challenge though I was conditioned far better than him and after the 1st Qtr was able to take advantage of his sloppy technique.

This week we are back into conference play in Macon Ga.

Go Hawks!

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
