Panthers reportedly have serious interest in a DT at senior bowl

uhh do teams normally show their hand before the draft? didn't think so. I smell smokescreen. make other teams think ur interested in certain players so the player u really want will still be there when u pick.

I think we are doing our due dilligence on the DT position in general.

why does marty have a hard on for app state players? One guy who played QB there hasn't been able to transition to punt returner in the NFL so I'll just make a blanket statement and assume everyone from there sucks.

He's local. From Columbia, SC and played in Boone. Hurney has always loved drafting local talent.

Quick is a mid-late round pick with loads of potential. It's not like he's going to be pick #8. Surfing this board, one would think we pulled a Dimitroff two years ago and gave up our entire draft that year for Armanti. Yes, that pick hurt, but exactly how much it did hurt is blown way out of proportion.

Quick is a natural WR at 6'5, 220. Armanti was a great athlete at QB in college that never really projected anywhere in the NFL. The two aren't comparable.

so that means they shouldn't evaluate DT's at all?

They can like the talent we have, but the doesn't mean they ignore the position if bpa says grab the dude.

We wouldn't have our probowl center otherwise.

hey...i agree. DT is my first choice for round 1. i want brockers or poe (if we can trade back).

if we drafted coples, i'd want him moved to DT.

biggest priority, imo. helps a pathetic run defense (that everyone forgets about) and puts a poo ton of pressure on the QB helping out the pass defense and weak secondary.
