If that's our draft, our defense becomes pretty respectable next year with everyone coming back. I'd be cool with it. Side story, played against Audi in intramural softball...by far the farthest I've ever seen anyone hit a ball. He comes off as a bit of a prick, but I think it's just because he's a quiet guy.

I do not think so either. Not sure OLB was properly addressed. We need a WLB.

Hey, but you did your research and have your reasons. Thanks for sharing.

Yea, it'd be hard for a draft to address EVERY need. I'm really hoping for Erin Henderson, been talking about him for a while now :) I think WLB would probably be the easiest need to address in FA, so I could see the reasoning not to draft one.

I was bored so I decided to take a hack at a dream offseason. Thoughts?

Draft:

Round 1: Michael Brockers DT

Brockers may be a raw prospect but there is just too much upside. He does 3 things well that we need out of a DT. 1) He's great at stuffing the run. 2) Can occupy multiple blockers which would free up others. 3) Push the pocket. He seems to be a humble and motivated player so I can see him becoming a star for us.

Round 2: Vinny Curry DE

Curry is an explosive pass rusher which is what we need in the league to be effective. He is also not as bad a run stopper as mentioned. Has the versatility to play DE and OLB. He is consistent, relentless, and has the potential to grow into an above average starter.

TRADE- Round 3: Bruce Irvin OLB

Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush!! Getting to the QB is what Irvin does best. Let him loose on passing downs and watch him wreak havoc. He is still very raw but he can start off as a pass rush specialist while he works on his run support and pass coverage.

Regarding WLB, you can go Nigel Bradham in the 4th. I just went with Cole since I think he would be able to back up Beason too.

Would you think Aaron Ross and Reggie Nelson as more possible pickups?

This is a good effort, buy we really need a couple free agents. I think we restructure a few deals, maybe cut a player of two, and by the end of March, we will know what we expect to address in the draft. It is frustrating because we do not know the health status of Davis or Otah. If they can't go, WLB and T becomes more of a priority.

I like the guys you mention. Too big for us in FA?

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
