Yeah, to quote some scouts, RG3 was super fast but for some reason had a knack for running towards defenders. Field vision is a necessary ingredient, and Cam's is downright ungodly.

Last season when Cam took off and ran...how many times did he have a chance to get that kind of speed up? once?

Speed is nice, but not so necessary for a QB.

RGIII will be like Vick to a degree.....yeah, he is fast but health will always be a concern. He isn't built to run at this level.

Cam carrying his height and weight that quickly is what I take away from this. RGIII ran an impressive 40 and his track experience shows up plain as day in this clip. If RGIII can throw as well as advertised, he will make a bigger splash than Vick did. They are far more comparable than RGIII and Newton IMO. Big question now is who ends up with RGIII and how well they develop him. I think Carolina did a top notch job with Cam through season 1.

You are describing Newton at auburn to a T and saying it's why another guy won't be successful.

Also looks like RGIII gained his edge between 10 and 20 yards. After that burst the separation remained the same.

speed isn't everything, what makes Cam such a good runner is his combination of balance and grace.
