Yeah, after a promising start, this team has been horrible after the all star break. Between the trades and injuries, they turned out right where I think we thought they would be. Sending Gomes in to pitch last night was the ultimate topper on this season.

The most baffling of all is Gonzales got extended during all this. If they really consider keeping him around for the 2017 season, I don't think it will be as fun as originally anticipated.

Congrats on getting the next Jon Lester in Sean Newcomb. I'm f'n pissed! Newcomb will be an ace in a couple years but ready to make an impact as early as this year.

Ellis was our second best prospect... We just traded our two best prospects without filling any of our needs. Uncle Arte better be willing to get out his check book again and go nuts in FA.

As for Aybar, one of the longer serving Angels I'll miss but won't be too upset. He'll do some of the dumbest things you'll ever see out on the field especially when he runs the bases. Solid glove had a few errors down the stretch this year though.

I've obviously seen Simmons on highlight reels for the past few years but he's a weak hitting SS but a respectable OBP percentage I suppose. I'm blown away we just traded our A+ pitching prospect for Simmons. A Richards, Heaney and Newcomb 1-2-3 was something a lot of us Angels fans were really looking forward to.

Thanks for the info, I was actually shocked to see Simmons traded, I thought he would be untouchable but I guess Freeman is the only one. Didn't really recognize the names right away, but it seems like a good prospect haul (because that's all the Braves are interested in) .

This front office will either look like geniuses in a couple of years or will have destroyed the franchise for many years to come.

I'll miss Simmons a lot. You'll learn to love watching him play. His bat has never developed like hope, but he has shown some more pop recently. While he doesn't score a lot of runs, he will save you a lot.

AZ looks to be in major win now mode, hope it works better for them than the Padres of last year.

I didn't think the Braves would get anywhere near that value for Miller. He's goo, but not that dominate #1 to completely destroy the farm system. The Braves have now essentially traded one year of Heyward for one year of Shelby Miller and keep Tyrell Jenkins, Ender Inciarte, Aaron Blair, and Dansby Swanson. Not to mention they also got AZ's #1 pick from the previous year, Touki Toussaint.

The Braves still wont be good next year, but the future is looking brighter.

You guys took Zona to the woodshed in that Miller deal

Yea they fleeced AZ with that Trade, but I'll take it. They got a ton of really good prospects from the Simmons and Miller trade and made out like bandits.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
