Carl Nicks available...

Whenever i watched the Saints, Nicks was a freakin brick wall, nobody moved him and nobody got around him. In a sense he is the perfect o linemen for a QB like Cams pocket presence. Cam likes to drop straight back an scan the field without little movement right over the guards like Brees. It could fix some of his throwing high issues. I think if they wanted him bad enough they could figure a way to bring him in but i dont think thats how they feel.

*if* we signed 1 big name FA, who would you rather? Nicks, with the highest salary for an OG or Super Mario, with the highest salary for a DE? With Nicks we might be able to sign another mid or lower tier FA or two. With Mario, that's the end of FA for us. Tough call, in my mind. But I'd have to go with Mario.

(not that I think either is likely to happen, but it's possible).

Defense biggest need = Mario.

I look at OG much the same way I look at the RB position. It's nice to have a top end player in those positions but it's a luxury. Just like with RBs you can find a pretty good OG for next to nothing.

These guys aren't hard to find and going from pretty good to an elite player at those positions isn't going to make a huge impact on game day. Save your high draft picks and cap space for more important positions that aren't as easy to fill.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
