Yeah, hopefully Steve Gregory will be the answer to our defensive woes.
who said anything close to that? people were mostly interested in him because of what he would bring to STs.

meh...never mind.

not really interested in seeing more bitching and whining and making mountains out of molehills.

And then there was a group who was smart enough to realize that this team needs a few more key pieces that could only be added by way of an offseason.

The panthers forsake the opportunity to improve to stick to "their plan." the same plan that has led them to an all time losing record.

It's a shame, but until some key figureheads of this organization move on, this team will likely never see perennial success. They just don't have the balls to commit to winning. When other teams have a need, they do whatever they can to fill it. When the Saints lose an all star Guard, they replace him with another.

When the Panthers lose talent, they seek a financially feasible alternative.

Because Lord knows if you can't be good, you better dang sure be cost effective.

Its a shame, because I thought with Cam this team had finally sniffed greatness, and would do whatever it took to go over the edge, but sadly, the pie chart comes first.

well that's just like your opinion man

So Wharton was an All-Pro? I don't think so. We will replace him with a younger guy which whom could better than Wharton has been.

Don't be mad that we don't go out and overpay for guys who just isn't in our system of doing things. The panthers never are big in FA so you shouldn't be shocked by any of this and if you are then you have been a fan of a differant teams for years.

The fact of the matter tho is Hurney sucks as a GM and I've been saying since Fox got fired he should have got a pink slip as well and until that time comes better accept that fact or go root for the Aints, *uccaneers, or Eagles (couldnt think of anything simple)

Like Jason Brown.

Aw, really, no way? I totally thought this was our first time doing stuff this way contrary to everything I said in the post youre responding to. Thanks for bringing me to the light.

No like someone we get in the draft and maybe Jason Brown works out (highly doubtful but maybe).

Your probably the same person praising Hurney when he signed Jake Delhomme to his contract back a couple years ago.

Atleast i hope we can agree on that Hurney is a bad GM and should go.

Well good luck in seeing progress . Youre on of thise fan who think no matter what we do , well win. I personally think we got worst from last year. Drafting in the top ten again

How did we get worse? We got rid of a bad HC, added a franchise QB, got great play out of our #1 CB again, added a TE weapon in Olsen and a Coach in Chud that has made our offense top 5 calliber from uuuhhhhh close to last in the league i beleive.

With all of the potential new additions whether be the draft or the FA, we now have a full offseason to develop a team under Rivera, a coach who brings out the best in defensive players with a resume to show for it.

I'm gonna just go out and say I'm pumped as f**king poo to see the progress and potential sleeper boomers in these guys

Kearse, Shirley, Keiser, McClain, Darius Butler, & Neblett

Rivera has them here because he clearly sees something he likes who he additionally trusts with McDermott. Midst this offeason and whoever we get, I'm just saying: don't forget these guys. I'm thinking most of them will still be here regardless of who we add/release and they have the ability...and are near translating it at full capacity in the NFL.

This, plus Cam in the same offense for a second year with the same OC.

    • I see they blamed Slavin for the goal like I did.
    • See this is the problem, you say "can't get off the line quick" and "can't separate quick" but in reality it's "he can get off the line better and create more separation" which are two completely different things. If he couldn't get off the line or separate, he wouldn't have put up the numbers he did and end up a Top 10 pick. But he can get better, and maybe more accurately, consistent with them both, and that will take his game to the next level.  These are things that are also much easier to improve once you get to the NFL than things like being a poor route runner or having bad hands, two of his strengths. Thinking he can't get open in the short passing game also shows you haven't watched enough tape on him, as he was used in that role so much in college with little issue getting open and making plays. And him not using his physicality as much isn't even something that hurts his game because he's so much more agile than a player of his size should be, which he used to his advantage.  Instead of throwing passes where he'd go up and box out a player like a TE or Mike Evans does, they use his athleticism and put the ball in places that only he can get to it, and he usually does (and yes, he'll still be able to do that against NFL DB's with his catch radius). But now that he's in the NFL, I'd like to see him get stronger and add that to his game because it also will help him take his game to another level. As I've said before, if he doesn't improve on those things at all, I think he's a Top 25 WR in this league, he's already that good.  But I think he'll improve on those things and be a perennial Top 10 WR and in his prime is considered and perform like Top 5 guy in some years. My expectations for him this year at 800 yards and 8 TDs (although I do think he'll get to 10 TDs) with a real chance at getting to 1,000.  But those expectations are because I think Thielen will lead the team in yards with close to 1k and XL/Coker each end up in the 500-600 range themselves, just too many mouths to feed this year for a rookie to dominate yardage, especially if we're running the ball well again. But if Thielen can't stay healthy or puts up sub 750 yards, then yea, my expectations for T-Mac likely shift to getting to 1k as a rookie.
    • Svech only 1 goal behind the guy they've pretty much already given the Conn Smythe to...
