Panthers Agree With Tolbert On 4 Year Deal

so much whining in here.

tolbert is going to be taking the place of goodson and probably the FB and he also brings another ST stud. dude has been a leader in ST tackles on the charger for several years.

if we can't re-sign stewart next year we have options.

btw...if we can't re-sign stewart, it won't be because of williams contract or money. they'll find a way to keep him around if he wants to....which he may not.

no sense in panicking or having a melt down.

this is a good thing.

if you're wondering how this fits into the offense....remember we have one of the most aggressive, progressive and innovative OCs in the league. expect some very cool things from this backfield and offense that teams won't be prepared for.

thank you for posting this.

I like this pickup, i like it a lot. It also shows our FO has a plan. We may not currently know what that plan consist of, but they do have one. I personally think JS will be a Panther for the '12-'13 season.

Our offense was at its best this year when our running game was clicking.

Maybe we should pickup The Golden Calf of Bristol. I mean our ground attack could be even better.

Imagine...

Cam, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Williams, Stewart, Tolbert all on the field at the same time.

We could call the formation the Delorian.

That was sarcasm.

As long we keep Jstew I ain't even mad. Dwill's contract is front loaded which means depending on the size of this contract with Tolbert we may be able to resign Jstew next year through a restructured Dwill contract. Remember people we aren't GM's or NFL financial consultants. Lets leave it the professionals and pray that Hurney doesn't actually have autism... Also this means Mike "Butterfingers" Goodson will most likely had his last season in Carolina.

400%? Seems high.

Why do you think Stewart isn't willing to renegotiate his contract and is holding out until his big payday? They are going to do what is best for them. This business for them. You think Wharton left bc he though going forward late in his career he could find a better pony than Cam? These guys are looking out for themselves.....there kids.....and there kids kids.

Too often people assume players are going to make sacrifices for the team. Look at Brees....with all the absurd cash he is being offered is he trying to do a Saints friendly deal?

Stewart will be the highest paid running back on this team next year. DeAngelo knows he's getting older, so that is why I'm sure he will restructure his deal to give Stewart the most money. Two years of making good money on a deal he was overpaid to begin with, yeah, I'm 400% sure D-Will "will" restructure his contract.

Well, well, well, Hurney actually did something big. Congrats.

That said, we're a passing team. Having three starting RBs is fishy, no matter what Chud can do.

Tolbert said he liked the FIT here. No one wants to be a FB when they were just a RB.

If people feel we may not be able to sign Stewie next season, may as well trade him now.

It's about to get interesting.

    • Who believes after Rico went off that Dave will go back to Chuba, go very pass happy again, run Chuba 7 times, and give Rico 5 carries?   he has a weird obsession with wanting to pass it over and over with Bryce.
    • I never once said I believed in Sam. Only that he’s proof that the Jets and Panthers are bad organizations. You spent all that time on me. I’m flattered.
    • Story of the year. Get down massively to Arizona, look like your first NFL game to throwing for more than 300 yards and getting the team to within 40 yards of a come back win. Get down 17-0 to Miami, execute the offense to outscore the Dolphins 27-7 the rest of the way. Defeat the Falcons 30-0 throwing for like 150 yards. Personally, I think it would be great to have retained Darnold. Darnold in this scheme with Canales would instantly make this team a contender for the NFC South. However that didn't happen.  I don't know what you do because when they run game gets shut down, and it will get shut down, you have to depend on Bryce to play efficiently. On one third down ball to someone (I forget who), when he was rolling out and made that throw close to the sideline to convert, the TV people would talking about how special that was. What I saw was another receiver streaking all alone 45 yards downfield, with about 5 yards of separation. Even while rolling out, an average QB is able to deliver that ball, signed, and sealed for a touchdown. Bryce's lack of deep ball ability is the achilles heel to this offense and it's something that can't be fixed.  I would love to be able to draft Carson Beck. I think he took a lot of crap at UGA which now seems unwarranted. Looking at how inefficient their offense is now compared to how it was with Beck at QB, and now how he has gone into the system Cam Ward was in and outperformed him massively in just pure execution and efficiency, along with the physical traits, tells me he will be a Top 3 pick. We won't have a Top 3 pick though. So what do we do? I have no idea. Canales is too good of an offensive coach for us to get a Top 3 pick and Bryce is inconsistent enough to get us a Top 10 pick. So absent finding a guy like Nix with tons of experience and good enough measurables, which requires great evaluations, I just think we are stuck.
