Stewart + 9Th Pick = Wo Blackmon

As much as we need pressure on the frontline, we will never be this close in drafting a prospect like WO Blackmon.

I thought of WO Floyd from ND but I don't want another Dwayne Jarrett situation (DUI) on this team.

Steve Smith needs a #1 WO across from him to ease his way to retirement in the next few years.

It would be IDEAL to have the pressure taken off of SUPER CAM & SMITHY because the WHOLE LEAGUE WILL BE AFTER THEM NEXT SEASON.

As much as I love "DOUBLE TROUBLE," we need to think ahead a develop a supporting cast around our QUARTERBACK. :D

We are fortunate that Tolbert wanted to play for us @ a discount and a full backfield. Tolbert = Stewart in this offense and Coach Chud can totally push the DWilliams & Tolbert button in that manner.

By the way, SUPERCAM likes to run too!!! We need to give him opinion in front of him to hit down the field.

Hence, trade Stewart and get WO Blackmon today!

Every draft has a Blackmon, or a Claiborne, or a Keuchly, or a Richardson, etc. Everyone gets so enamored with these guys it's a trip to me. Blackmon isn't a generational talent.

I fixed the error in the name, but my point was clear.

We need to play "offense" in the draft and not "hope" a premier prospect would drop to us at #9.

If we stay at # 9, we are going to take either Poe or Coples, and they are not going to advance our frontline pressure as we think.

The only DT that would advance our team would be Brockers from LSU, but we should trade down to pick him up in the twenties.

Problem is, we have been discussing every scenario about trading/not trading Stewart since the season ended. Not much better to have too many RB's, trade one just to have too many WR's. Trading up is not our best option, trading down is much better, for example with the Eagles getting at least a third. Then trade Stewart to Denver for their second

You go from having a first and second to one first, two seconds and a third. Much better at adding depth to a young team.

I am not endorsing the scenario....but it is better to have several good WRs than several good RBs.

If you have 1 good WR and one good RB....and get the choice to add one more good player.....it should be a WR. They all can play the majority of snaps together making a defense defend them all. 2 good RBs is depth outside of odd play

No ones questioning that two WRs see the field more than two RBs, especially in our offense. But our WRs aren't that bad to begin with. If Blackmon fell, cool, then you'd have to consider him. But there is no value in trading Stewart up 5 slots to select someone who could fall to 9. Also, you can find WRs in later rounds.

    • I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.
    • That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.
    • A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings.   Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne  OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman    Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom  ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott  CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew    ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen  P: Sam Martin  K: Matthew Wright    Would like to hear everyone's thoughts
