odds? :)

i'm not confident enough in my draft analysis to put a cent of my hard-earned money on it... i think with our top two linebackers potentially not coming back it's a position of great need, especially if we can nab jenkins in the 2nd.

I'm with Philly, I think we're really interested in Keuchly.

Saying that, I think Samuel is the best guy available that we could just plug in as a starter and be set for, at the least, next season.

I really think we're taking Kuelchly or trading back if Claiborne isn't there though.

Adding to the anxiety regarding our current LB corps, Marcellus Wiley was discussing Jason Peter on Sportscenter this morning and said that he tore his achilles last year, and even though he's not playing anymore, he said he gained back all of his strength but lost his explosion. He said that's the concern for anyone with that injury. That's a huge reason why I think we're targeting Kuechly.

Doubt Jenkins is there in the second. The top four corners will most likely be gone in the first in Claiborne, Gilmore, Kirkpatrick, and Jenkins.

After those four there is a s significant drop in talent because all four of these guys play the pass really well but can also play the run pretty well.

However, there is one corner that I believe that if his forty time was faster and he was better at stopping the run then he would be a first round pick and that is Casey Hayward. Hayward has grade A coverage skills, what he lacks in speed he makes up with great route recognition which in the end doesn't hurt him so bad. I really believe Hayward has just as good coverage skills as the four guys I mentioned above if not better than some of them.

If we can't get one of the four guys I mentioned above I would take a hard look at taking Casey Hayward in the fourth.

I would love Jenkins in the second. That would, potentially, one of the bigger steals of the draft he kept his head on straight.... I rather get Coples than Kuechley. But you definitely have a valid point.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
