Nfl Preparing For Cam Newton Dominance In 2012

You think The Golden Calf of Bristol. Carroll thinks Cam Newton.

"He went into Auburn and had nothing (experience-wise) behind him, and did everything immediately," the Seattle Seahawks coach said of Newton, in what looked like genuine amazement. "He didn't emerge until the middle of the season, so we didn't know who he was. And then all of a sudden this was the top player in the country, a Heisman hopeful, and he just kills it. Then he goes to the NFL and does the same thing. He did the same thing! Nobody's ever done that.

"That's ... I don't know ... that's the biggest story in years."

Still can't believe we might have a "superstar" QB on this team. We are VERY VERY lucky!. Many teams never find that "it" QB.

Might? We do have a bonafide all-star in Cam. Think about it, he could stay at exactly the same level of play from his rookie year and make the hall of fame just due to the numbers.

Poe goes to Memphis....not Memphis State (does that even exist?). Also, Poe is just average on the field. Not a great comparison.

Didn't mean to pie you lol

I know he went to Memphis, the guy in the video doesn't.

    • This guy pre-draft was saying he could take or leave football, and he seems to have been playing with that mentality ever since lol.
    • Agreed, another safety would be nice. Bud Clark, TCU, is one I would like to see us take a flyer on later in the draft, if he stays healthy and we don't take someone earlier. I just really hope we draft a solid C this year. Tired of seeing us cycle through average to below average players in that area.
    • Bryce doesn't like throwing into the middle of the field unless the play broke down or it's set up to give him a passing lane.  So because of this issue, most of the passing offense has to be outside the numbers towards the boundary. So you see him throw a lot of dump offs, swing routes, short side out routes, comebacks or deep balls outside the numbers using the boundary as protection of an interception.    Pretty easy for a NFL defense to see this and scheme against it.  All you have to do is run a shell cover 2 deep dime, LB plays a hook underneath, take the flat away with a blitz/flat zone option for the two inside DB's, outside two DB's play hook zone underneath and carry anything deep.    Pretty much what NO ran to take away Rico while also limiting What Bryce can do as well.
