Panthers Apparently "love" Luke Kuechly

They do have Pheia and the kid from the Texans Okeyba what ever. But they also didn't make the playoffs. So pick a better team.

They didn't make the playoffs because of Cutler going down, being in the same division as Green Bay and Detroit, and having a weak secondary. Not their DTs.

I assume you mean Stephen Paea out of Oregon St who was a rookie last year and played sparingly. Also Amobi Okoye who rotated, but didn't start, had a good year but he also was not retained.

Well we don't know that I've only see Hogan in 2 games and not much in those 2 games.

Again you are Fawning over somebody saying he was a 1st round talent. He still drop to the 4th round. I could see dropping to the 2nd or 3rd but he must of really F'up to be a 1st round talent dropping to the 4th round. Or maybe some teams didn't see him with 1st round talent.

I didn't even see him as a first round talent, to me he was a second round talent to begin with. However, I also feel like I know more about Hogan considering my cousin plays cornerback for WVU and was able to tell me a lot about Hogan.

Wrong again. Boley is not sorry. He had 93 tackles in only 13 starts. Williams had 78 tackles in 2 starts and 16 games of rotational work. Kiwanuka who is a LB/DE also had 84 tackles and 3.5 sacks. The rest of the guys like Greg Jones started 5 games and played in 16 games while others filled in. They had some injuries like we did during the season and struggled somewhat. They limped into the playoffs at 9-7. Then in the playoffs things got much better and the defense gelled.

But they were not sorry and they used their DEs and LBs somewhat interchangeably.

They won because of that Dline Spin it how you want. They were trying LB out all year but got better when Osi came back.

43 tackles and 5.5 sacks is major impact for a DT ?? Learn football before talking.

Hahaha you make me laugh. "Learn football?" You are consistently getting called out for your lack of knowledge and intelligence towards this game called football. Since you like stats so much, let's take a close look.

1. Dareus wasn't even in the top 60 for sacks.

2. Dareus ranked 265th with 43 tackles.

3. Buffalo had the 5th worse rushing defense in the NFL allowing nearly 140 yards on the ground per game.

4. Buffalo only recorded 29 sacks in the NFL this past year which got them tied for sixth worst in the NFL.

It doesn't seem like Dareus had that great of an impact on the defensive side of the ball to me.

Lol, is the expectations for all rookie DTs to play at now what Suh, a once in a decade prospect, accomplished?

When you get drafted that high, yes.

Since 2002, only three defensive tackles have been taken with a top 3 pick and they are Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, and Marcel Dareus.

Suh exceeded expectations and Dareus was slightly below expectations and McCoy looks like a bust.

So yes, when you draft a defensive tackle that high; they better be an Ndamukong Suh type of player. Especially when players like A.J. Green and Patrick Peterson are still on the board.

    • TBH, these are the kind of players that get weeded out of professional sports pretty quickly. Also, CMC is not that guy. There is zero indication that he isn't competitive.
    • I like the free agency. It actually helps basically all schools across the board. Pretty much only ancient HC's and/or HC's that haven't been able to adjust have been complaining about the free agency. Your fortunes can be made or broken every offseason. It's not like before where a bad recruiting class or two meant multiyear purgatory.  I will never understand all the bellyaching about the NIL. If you want to talk about what ruined college athletics, it has been naked greed. Conference expansions for TV revenue, ever skyrocketing AD and facilities costs and now the attempts to permanently ruin the postseasons(football and basketball).  All the kids did was get a very well deserved piece of a very, very, VERY broken pie.
    • Nobody is saying they don't count against the cap, because yes, they technically do count against the cap as it's money the team is paying and it needs to be accounted for. But what you're not grasping it seems is that if a player gets $10 million guaranteed in their contract, whether they get literally $0 as a signing bonus or $8 million as a signing bonus, it doesn't change the overall cap hit of the contract, because cap hits are about the guaranteed money, not how much is paid up front. The only thing that how much is paid up front changes, is how the cap hit can be spread out amongst the years. So yes, technically there could end up being a slightly bigger cap hit in year 3 and 4 due to a bigger signing bonus, but if that is the case, it also means there will be a lesser cap hit in years 1 and 2 than there would have been with a smaller bonus.  But over the length of the contract, the size of the signing bonus has literally zero affect on the overall cap hit of the contract, because THAT part of it is 100% about the guaranteed money and nothing else.
