Tony Fiametta FB Syrcause

also there's no reason at all to cut anyone just because we drafted a guy. For one, depth. Two, Hoover's still a hell of a player. But for some reason people are looking to cut people because of the draft, and I don't get that.

lol cut a guy who just came off his best season ever?

He did a hellava job. D'Will and Stewart never forgot to give him credit. I thought it was worthy of a Pro Bowl appearance but just another Panther that was rejected.

Tony Fiammetta has a great role model and we should have a smooth transition at fullback when the time comes to give Brad his gold watch. NOT IN 09 and maybe not even 2010.

Go Panthers

I don't know why some people think this kid should instantly replace Hoover. As others have said, Hoover is coming off one of his best seasons.

There is room for both of these guys on the roster. Fiametta is much more athletic than Hoover, and a better receiver too. I expect we will be seeing a lot of Fiametta on third downs this season. He may also see some time at TE.

We also had a pre-draft interview with Fiammetta:

Tony Fiammetta Q&A With PD

i liked this Q&A:

All right, last question: There’s nothing between you and the goal line but a linebacker. Convince me that you’re going to score the TD.

I’m going to use all my will, all my strength, and all my technique to get underneath that linebacker’s pads and set the tone for the rest of the game. You know, I’m not going to be stopped. I’m going to use everything I’ve got in my body to get over that goal line for my team.

oh...i have no reason to believe that hoover is going to be cut or anything. only way he goes is on his own accord or if he ceases to be productive (which i don't see happening anytime soon). he will be bringing along fiammetta and teaching that guy how to be the best.

there may not be any other team that carries 2 FBs and 2 kickers but i see no reason why we shouldn't. the old guys are clutch and the younger guys have far too much to offer that we need.

    • He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful
    • Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here
    • AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
