A New Orleans filmmaker has accused former Saints defensive quality control coach Mike Cerullo of being the man who blew the whistle on the team's pay-for-pain bounty program that resulted in the suspensions of head coach Sean Payton, GM Mickey Loomis, assistant head coach Joe Vitt and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, the bounty system architect.

Maybe y'all missed the part where it said he believed Payton and Williams had blocked him gettting another job after the fired him and only then came forward to tell in retaliation, not because he is a good guy. Why would another team want a guy who is proven to be vindictive!? There are better articles that explain in more detail.

"Donnes described Cerullo as a disgruntled former employee who couldn't find work after being let go after the 2009 season," Holder wrote Tuesday afternoon. "Donnes said Cerullo believed Sean Payton and Gregg Williams blocked Cerullo from getting a job in the NFL. Cerullo is currently a football program aide at Connecticut. When contacted by CBSSports.com on March 9 concerning Bountygate, Cerullo said he had no comment."

No one missed it. I wouldn't put it past Payton or Williams to be dick bags and try and blackball someone. Maybe he knew about the bounty and complained about it and was fired for it. Just the kind of low life scumbag thing that Wiliams and Payton would do. Serves them right it came back to bite them. Otherwise you would let him go and say decent things and let him move on. I saw it mentioned the other day that NFL insiders (no idea who) say that Brees confronted defensive leaders about the bounties at some point and was told, "hey, other teams do it to you..."

I doubt Brees was the whistle blower, but I've thought all along that he knew about it.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was someone like an ex-coach was the whistleblower, esp if he had an axe to grind.

I wasn't challenging whether his reporting was right or wrong, I was responding to the issue brought up about teams not wanting to hire a guy like that, it would be one thing if the guy was who ally opposed and rotted the bounty right away, but that's not the case. He believed Saints coaching blocking his getting hired and only then with retaliation as his sole motivation, reported the bounty program as a way to get back even.

Therefore, most, if not all teams would reasonably want to stay away from a guy who is proven to have a history of retaliation with intent to get even, not to report something because of hos morales.

Further, there is no proof Williams or Payton tried to block his hiring, this was just his belief. He didn't do his job well enough to keep it with Saints so it's not surprising other teams weren't quick to hire him.

I've read almost every article connected to this and call BS. It would be very easy to find this out because since the bounty affair, Brees has spoken to the media 3 times and all were very short and to the point.

The issue with the improvised fairy tale you came up with is it doesn't make sense given the facts. If they ALLEGEDLY got rid of him for complaining about the bounties, he wouldn't have waited till he couldn't get a job to complain about it.
