Mock Draft

Here is a quick mock i made. No fancy pictures/videos or detailed descriptions. Just straight to the point.

Round 1: Fletcher Cox DT

Seems to be the flavor of the week right now. Cox is exactly what we need at DT. He is a relentless pass rusher with upside to get even better. He is also versatile. I believe he can make an instant impact.

Round 2: Janoris Jenkins CB

Jenkins has his red flags but that does not diminish his value as arguably the best cover corner in the draft. He needs to clean up his act and Rivera is the man to do that. He would look great starting opposite Gamble.

Round 4: Cam Johnson DE

This is wishful thinking on my part. Johnson might be gone by round 3 but i'm hoping injuries and lack of production may cause him to fall. Johnson is versatile, solid against the run, and when healthy has the ability to be a ferocious pass rusher.

Round 5: Terrell Manning LB

Manning is a pretty good overall LB. He can be little reckless at times. Also shows the versatility to play inside and out.

Round 6: Devon Wylie WR/RS

Some more wishful thinking. Wylie might fall due to injuries and size concerns. But, he just ran in the 4.3's and may be drafted in the 4th. This guy screams Wes Welker to me. Can cause damage in our offense. Also doubles up as a dynamic return man.

Round 6: Danny Trevathan OLB

Trevathan is constantly making big plays. I don't know why he is rated so low. He is a good blitzer with sideline to sideline speed. He would fit in nicely at WLB for us.

Round 7: Drew Butler P

Might as well get a punter on board with our last pick.

What's up guys,

I was just reading an excellent mock draft from the guys at http://www.sportsmasher.com

Everyone has the Panthers taking a Defensive Lineman in the first round. I've seen:

-Fletcher Cox

-Michael Brockers

-Quentin Coples

-Melvin Ingram

I understand that D-Line is a major need, and defense in general. However say Michael Floyd was available.

I think I would rather grab a playmaking stud wideout for Cam in the first round, then focus on defensive line and defense in general during the rest of the draft.

Say we grab:

-Michael Floyd in first

-Jerel Worthy, Devon Still, Mike Martin, Vinny Curry in the second.

I think that would be better than say:

-Cox in the first

-Reuben Randle in the second

What do you guys think?

Here is a link to their mock - really detailed. Good stuff:

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
