Of These 4 Draft Prospects Who Is Your Favorite?

Like I said I haven't given up on him but think you need 3 or 4 guys who can come in be significant contributors. We have a number of DTs but really 2 DEs who can come in every down. We need more than that. We brought in 2 DT last year in the top 3 rounds. When was the last time we drafted a DE as high as we drafted McClain at 65 other than Brown and lets be honest how quickly did we give up on him???

We kept Kesier, resigned Applewhite and Tucker. Plus we drafted Wr pretty high as well it's not stopping people wanting another wr.

Just to be honest here what makes Floyd a #1 wr really? There's a lot scouts that see him as a #2 just like lafell.

Greg Cossell of nfl films who studies film like nobody's business and knows his poo sees him as a # 1 and likes him better than Blackmon. If you follow him on twitter he explains that he appears to be a # 1 who can line up outside and win one on one matchups, or can play inside the slot as well.

Gil Brandt whos highly respected and has an impeccable resume ranks him higher than Blackmon as well.

Floyd caught 95 passes last year and eclipsed 1100 yards, racking up over half those yards after the catch(and unless your a Norte Dame fan i bet youve never even heard of the guy throwing him the ball).I never really liked the idea of a receiver at 9 but am warming up to him quite a bit myself.

He was the feature playmaker for Notre Dame and still put up great numbers without any help to speak of and I'm sure other teams game plan on D was focused on slowing him down.

We only have 2 DE that can do that? What? Applewhite seemed pretty good as a hybrid de. Keister looked pretty darn good too. I say our ends looked ok.

No they didn't have a 20 sack season but they did pretty good.

And yes we have plenty of bodies at the DT position but what does thy matter if they aren't any good. I really don't like the guys we got last year: McClain and fua. I haven't givn up on them either but damn they looked pretty bad.

I guess I understand what Your saying though. U feel that hardy/keiser and the ends need an upgrade like I feel we need a upgrade over shirley/fua/McClain and co. But I just simply feel like DT is the position in more dire need of an upgrade.

He had 2 years really? This was his 1st year starting in a lockout offseason where he didn't have much of a TC due to the Motor crash and injuries. Then he had to learning a new defense. Not to mention playing beside 2 Rookies who were getting man handled. I think people need to cut Hardy some slack.

It really isn't just about Hardy but he was a 6th rounder and that usually comes with some issues. We took McClain 1 slot out of the second round. I don't know if there is more pressure to do something right away but look how long Brown hung around with Rivera. Seems to me that we are expecting results right away. Surely that would be the message if we draft Cox. You get 1 year to prove yourself, otherwise we move on.

We could be just following the giants model and collecting pass rushers. Honestly I would take Brockers if I thought Hardy was fine as our starter. If he has a year or two to develop he will be an absolute stud in the league in ttime. I just hink Rivera is looking for results this year.

We need to step back and think about this long term. We aren't going to the Superbowl this year. It really doesn't matter to me what we need the most "right now". I want guys with upside that will be studs for the next 10 years. The people that think we are going to plug in 3 or more rookies and win the division are silly.

How do we know we ain't going to the Superbowl this year?

Can you honestly tell me that the Giants were the best team in the NFL last season?

Could be argued they weren't even the best team in their division.

They got hot at the right time.

Ya don't have to be the best team in the NFL, to win the Superbowl, ya just gotta be good enough to survive regular season, and be playing your best during the finial quarter of the season, with a bit of luck.

While I'm not predicting we win he Superbowl, anything can happen. Nobody in their right mind, would have predicted the Giants to win the Superbowl at the beginning of last season, when they were scrambling just to get bodies into their secondary!

Then there are other scout that don't. He is not consider and elite talent.

Charles Rodgers had 67 catches for 1400 yards and 14 td. College stats are ok but I also need to see some elite skill sets.

Cox, Coples, both are good players. Both are players that can make an impact this season.

With all the young talent the Panthers have at the defensive tackle position, and as much as I'd love the Panthers to pick a certain DT, Coples, would be the better choice, as he'd instantly upgrade our pass rush, and be an every down player on the defensive line.

Keiser was a rookie as well and is a rotational guy right now. He came in week 10 so he is promising but who knows. Applewhite was signed this year but we weren't too hyped about him or we would have signed him right away. Plus he played very little.

Tucker last started a game in 2008 so who knows what he can do after the injuries. He wasn't even in football in 2011 So it isn't comparable at all. As for a WR this year, that isn't me. I want the majority of picks on he defensive side.

He got size, speed, wiide catching radius, ability to gain yards after catch. Some scouts like him some don't as much as others. I like him, you don't..let's leave it at that.

He's got all the elite skill set a #1 receiver needs. Great size, good hands, good after the catch, can go deep or short, not to mention he's the best blocking receiver in the draft

Now is a question who you have more faith in either developing are coming off injury.

Hardy/ Kieser

McClain/ Fua

Beason/ Davis/ Senn/ or the other LB they've signed and kept Williams and Phillps

Lafell/ Gettis/ Plaris

Hogan/Butler

He's got good size but speed is avg. at best. He doesn't get much seperation. Has good hands but not a lot of Open field elusivness or big play ability.

And it's not that I don't like him or Blackmon. I don't think we need them. Neither one changes this offense dramatically more then having a better defense.
