Fetishes

In regards to Fetishes I have gone to the ends of the Internet and seen thing that cannot be unseen. Those poor penguins...for shame Johnny Rockets

Yet one of the more disturbing ones I have come across is Hurney's fetish with collecting Linebackers and Running Backs. He seems like such a normal GM then BLAMO our big FA signing is a FB/RB hybrid and our 1st pick is a LB. Now we are supersaturated at the positions that historically can be filled in with mid to late round picks.

I hope Kuechly becomes an absolute beast but I cannot ignore Hurneys fascination with those two positions.

Quantity of linbackers is not quality stockpiling. we were deep two years ago when it was Davis, Anderson, Beaston, Conner....

Davis and Beast are nursing possible career altering injuries and Conner is gone and he was very limited.

Are you saying Dillard, Jason Williams...are the lbers we have a collection of?

HBs yeah I agree...lbers impact the game and are in on most plays.

Kuechley had a wide margin of seperation from the other linebackers.

There is still a second round for DL..or another HB?

Only Kuechly makes a lot of damn sense and I feel, from the presser, that this was really Rivera's doing.

I like it. Best LB corps in NFL.

Honestly we had that last year and where did that get us? Hope Fun and McClain step up or its hurt LB city once more.

Whoever thinks this is not an A+ pick does not understand football. TWO LBers coming off "Maybe Career Ending" injuries. We have 3 solid D-Line starters next year, especially with Edwards and Johnson coming back 100% healthy. This pick makes so much sense in every way.

Just read a few articles on the draft, and several writers have Kuechly as the front runner for Defensive ROY already. He is special!

It's not like these "fetishes" have caused Hurney to reach for bad players. Williams and Stewart were high value picks. So we're Beason and Davis. Anderson was picked in the third, so was Conner. Tolbert came pretty cheap. Maybe he has a fetish for getting good players.

    • Apparently the extension he signed before the season was also a little weird, as it had a very low signing bonus. So the Jets have a very small dead cap hit despite trading a big contract that was signed just 2 months ago. I guess it was only a $13 million signing bonus, and trading him mid-season means it's something around only a $10 million dead cap hit left to take. This is a huge win for the Jets for a player I've long felt was overrated because of a great nickname and an amazing rookie season that he's then failed to fully live up to since them.  Combine that with everyone knowing the Colts seem more mirage then legit long term contender, that 2027 1st in particular could end up being a really good asset for the Jets.
    • Steichen has the offense operating at a super high efficiency with JT/Pittman/Warren/Downs.  The OL is strong. The D - the front 7 has been sneaky good.  They don't instill much fear but do enough.  Buckner is stil playing at a high level.  It's a good system on both sides of the ball.  Blue chip players now at every position group.   Overall, the NFL is wide open right now. Seahawks, Colts, Patriots, Rams, & Bills are at the top of the mid-season hill - which is just wild Lions, Bucs, Broncos, Chargers* are in contention/okay spots (LAC is losing guys left and right though) Chiefs, Philly still linger, you can never discount. Steelers, 49ers are around as always.
