Details From Hargrove's Document...

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--document--anthony-hargrove-was-instructed-to-lie-by-gregg-williams--joe-vitt.html

Hargrove confirms that not only did Gregg Williams tell him to lie, but that post-suspension interim coach Joe Vitt was in on it as well. Vitt was supposedly the coach that Sean Payton sent to monitor Williams, whom they later claimed "went rogue".

The document also states that Vitt and Williams made promises of a starting DE job to Hargrove, likely in order to assist with his cooperation in denying the bounty program. They apparently never made good on their promise.

The reason behind the declaration was to set the foundation for a "just following orders" defense. Hargrove apparently didn't realize that by doing this, he was giving the NFL additional ammo against him, the Saints* and his teammates.

The statement he quotes from Williams is hilarious

Not putting any faith or whatsoever in Mike Florio's opinion, but he has a different take on what that means.

As he mentions, given the coaches' admissions, you can do the math.

That said, Florio's probably pissed Yahoo got it before he did.

Florio disagrees because at the end of the day, he is still a lawyer. It is in a lawyers blood to argue and sensationalize. These NFLPA lawyers would rather get Vilma, Hargrove, Chicken Fajita and the rest of them off on a technicality than do what they are supposed to do, which is protect the health of their union members.

Bounty Gate is just bafflingly stupid. It probably didn't help them on the field. If they had just ended it when the NFL first told them to, they would have gotten a slap on the wrist, fired Greg Williams, and moved on. Instead they engage in this elaborate cover up, and did they really think this poo would work?

Now they pissed off the Ginger Hammer, and have tarnished their reputation.

Say what you want about Belicheat, at least he did it the smart way. Gain actual on field advantage, apologize when caught, take your punishment, and move on.

This denial movement is only going to further hurt the national perception of the Saints*.

(putting on my lawyer hat)

"Bountygate" is not stupid.

The Saints* players, coaches, front office and (especially) their fans are very stupid.

    • The fact that we're STILL questioning if he should be starting is all that needs to be said.   If this week doesn't turn out well, the boiling point could hit soon.  Don't think 0-3 does it, but it could be soon.  Considering our schedule, it may happen if things fall off the rails.   We have 3 winnable games by week 9.  If we're just sitting 2-7 or 1-8 after the Packers game, that would be near the end point of this situation in its entirety.    It took what, a 1-10 start to can Reich in his first year?  I think a 1-8 start to Bryce in his 3rd would be reasonable to politely end his tenure in Carolina.
