New Tool Coming Soon...or Later...

They're hoping to get in the studio in June or July says Danny Carey...

How long will it take once they hit the studio? "The tracking part I’d say [takes] two to three months then probably a month to mix and master and that’s it."

Carey went on to explain the creative process behind their weird and wonderful music.

"We all just get in there and grind ‘em out, you know? Sometimes if I come up with a beat the guys will come up with a riff to that.

...my buddy sent me this, dont know where its from, but for those that know...

Kyuss Lives!

I know people are getting their bitch on about Kyuss Lives not being a legit reunion, but this may be as close as we ever get. Wretch era Kyuss jammers John Garcia (voice), Nick Oliveri (bass) and Brant Bjork (drums) have been touring the globe bringing the Kyuss sound to the masses. Occasionally Scott Reeder has joined Kyuss Lives on stage, the man who gave the band their bass sound through Sky Valley and As The Circus Leaves Town. Oliveri claims the band is called Kyuss Lives because there is no true Kyuss reunion without Josh Homme. He also stated he hopes to work with Homme again in the future.

Why This Rules: Having seen Kyuss in their heyday, anything even approaching a reunion is awesome. Now the band is looking to do a new album, hopefully with both Oliveri and Reeder involved. My hope is that Josh Homme will drop the pretention and get on board to record some new jams. If not, maybe QOTSA and Kyuss Lives will tour and Homme might stumble on stage to rock. Regardless of Homme, I’m amped for this record.

don't know if maynard is really interested in doing anything other than funding his wine making business so while i'm excited by the thought of new tool, i'll try to keep my expectations low

they were awesome in charlotte earlier this year though

I would've rather heard about a new craftsman tool than some shitty band making weird music.

Did you really call Tool a "shitty band that makes weird music"

Ohh dear lord son, there's something seriously wrong with you.

Tool is awesome, but if this album does eventually come out it will likely be their last. Maynard's voice is pretty much dead and I think he's done with making music. It's been so long since 10k days...

Just because it doesn't cater to your tastes doesn't mean it's shitty. Tool is an AMAZING band....

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
