Things are slow so I wanted to take a look at the guys on the roster and take a crack at the final list for September. Realize there is a lot that can and will happen but like I said, things are slow.

A couple of things to note.

1. Only selected 50 guys. I think there is a lot of talent still left in the other 40 I left off but really do believe we could still go out and get a few quality players in Free Agency.

2. After going through this I think there are a couple areas that should be upgraded

- Safety/Cornerback: On this list I dont have Sherrod Martin even making the team. Although symbolic, I can really see either him or Munnerlyn not making the squad. We should bring in a guy or maybe even 2.

- Wide Receiver/Tight End: There is a lot of young talent but it would be nice to have a guy that can catch the ball in clutch situations

- DL: Not sure we can get a quality upgrade here so the team will most likely grab one of the guys off of the team and or Practice Squad.

Good effort, but yes, it is very difficult to read.

Jason Williams may not be safe. He may be a big part of ST's, but the guy is a horrible LB, and the new additions may make him expendable. Ziemba is another who may not make the cut.

I think the current #1 priority of the FO is finding another WR. Just opinion, but I don't think the staff is happy yet with the current corps.

Overall though, a reasonable list.

Neblett is young, better than McClain (at this point), and him being out leaves us just one legitimate 3 tech DT. And why eliminate both Kearse and Shirley in favor of Edwards (never played in our system) and Fua (who did not perform very well last year)?

See last sentence of post. I think someone else gets in from the current roster or via cuts/FA. I just lump all the those guys in the same category. Scratch whatever you want. I think those 3 are penciled in on the roster and the closest to a sure thing barring injury.

I agree that Martin and Munnerlyn are expendable and wouldn't be surprised if they aren't playing for us this season.

Also agree that getting a DT in free agency isn't out of the realm of possibility as well as getting another TE.
