What Is Gantt's Problem With James Anderson?

It doesn't hurt that the d-line couldn't stop my grandma running. You guys put way too much into stats. It you're gonna go strictly based on pff rankings then Carolina needs to trade Cam Newton for Alex Smith or Matt Moore, they're better.

I'm pretty sure this article is from 2010 meaning the 2010-11 season, when the defense was much better.

That dime-a-dozen player beat Beason's single season tackles record.

I'm not saying Anderson is great, but he's more than "just a guy".

Raw tackle numbers on a D that couldn't stop anyone with scrubs all over the field doesn't mean what some suggest....

Go look at the 100+ tackle guys each year.....plenty of JAGs

Ya'll dudes b**** over the drop of a dime. Damn, Anderson's been our most reliable/consistent LB over the past two years (injuries to Beason, and Davis). He's played all three downs in the absence of starters and held his own with a bunch of rookies/back-ups up front and around him.

Top ten in tackles...I mean what else do you want from your "Sam"...? Be glad we have a solid set of 4-3 LB's. None of us are GM's or know how the cap works/can be manipulated. That's why we pay to watch games, and you know the coaching/team staff get paid to assemble a team and manage the contracts, evaluate talent, and coach the players.

He's not the best cover guy. But he's been a stud for us. He's made plays for us and is a great fugging tackler. I don't know what you guys want from him. I can see how some say he's over paid, but that doesn't say anything about his skill and what he brings to this team.

    • Backup QB has been an issue of mine for a long time but not just for Bryce and Dalton. We have never really been able to develop QBs or build an offense around strengths. Dalton isn't going to move the needle one way or another. The problem is in our FO and possibly coaching staff (current staff undetermined as of yet). I'm of the belief that you always try to get better. Dalton wasn't good other than one game against an abysmal defense. Churn the roster, including backup QB. If BY isn't the guy we've got to start over anyway. Who knows. We might actually find someone good. Other teams have done it before.
    • Lol. Worst case? I think you mean most likely result. I don't think people are going to be wasting much breath on Dalton or QB2 if Bryce flounders this year. It's going to be people calling for coaches, GM's and owners heads for the mess we got ourselves in with Bryce in the first place. Rightfully so.
    • I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
