Hotsauces' Black Bike Weekend Adventures

I had a brand new '09 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R with full riders gear for one week in the summer of '09. I was doing 70mph & some woman pulled out in front out me on the parkway (60mph limit). I still don't know how I swirved around her without crashing, I slide around with the intention of hitting the ditch instead of eating her suv bumper at highway speed. Took it back to the dealer the next day. Street bikes are fun as hell, but I cherish life too much to ever ride one again.

End story time.

We've been a couple of times to BBW as a vendor. I had fun. BBW is where I saw the panthers bike, but the pic is on my old phone. It was awesome.

BB, I don't wish a wreck on anyone, dummy or not. We've witnessed two bad wrecks during the bike weeks. One during harley week, a kid from Camp Lejeune was hit by an old man trying to turn left out of the giant crab and nailed him. Kid went through the window and into the back seat. His stomach was sliced all to hell and stuff hanging out. To this day I don't know if that kid made it or not. Happened right in front of us and we barely had enough time to stop. The second happened in front of us when we were set up at Hooters at the mall for BBW. Something caused a couple to hit the curb and they went down. The guy was walking around in the parking lot worried about his girl's road rash and tending to her until the EMT's got there. Found out later he had died.

Most of the kids down for BBW don't drink and ride. There's more of that during harley week.

Our Senior year of HS Beach Week was during BBW. It was great because the police were more concerned about the racing and what not rather than us teens makes fools of ourselves at the beach.

A buddy of mine got hit the back of the head with a beer bottle while one the bikers was getting chased going 70 mph and the biker through it away to get rid of the evidence, just happened to hit him.

    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
