The commercials hyping tonight's edition of the Top 100 (40-31, 8pm tonight) feature a decent number of Cam Newton highlight clips, and one of Steve Smith talking about him.

Gives me the impression that maybe - just maybe - Newton will be featured on tonight's show.

(maybe I'm reaching here, but ya know...)

I want your avatar in my mouth.

There's a quote that badly needs context to make sense

(better hope he doesn't change his avatar to something that makes you regret that post)

For the record, I have never played Cam Newton in Madden online and will make no claims to having done so.

Just wanted to get that out there

It's Eastern time.

Also from NFLN, they had a poll question about who was most likely to go from "first to worst" this season, with the choices being the Giants, Ravens, Broncos and Saints*.

The fan vote was 49% for the Saints*, with the Broncos being a distant second at 22%.

Willie McGinest also chose the Saints* as most likely, and Heath Evans acknowledged it as a definite possibility.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
