Face of the franchise?

Face of the franchise?

Just wondering who you all consider to be the face of the Panther’s ?

It think Peppers is/was our most noticeable player from both stand points of here and across the league. With the likely possibility that he will be leaving here within in the next year, who would you like to see be the face of the franchise.

I see that many fans, myself included are really starting to put all hopes on Jon Beason.

We could also argue for Smith, for I think he is hands down the best player we have on our roster. Although in my humble opinion I don’t look at Smith as a team leader to the face of the franchise. No disrespect to Steve at all, for he is a top 3 receiver in my book and has meant so much for all football team. Talent, effort, and as competitive as they come Steve only lacks a bit in the character department.

Beason’s talent, commitment and heart were all clearly displayed last year on the playing field, but what really stands out to me is his character. I so looked forward to hearing him every week on WFNZ. Beason is so genuine, polite and respectful to all his peers. He does not have a ballooned ego and remains humble. To me when a player of his caliber shows all those qualities – that’s a player the franchise can truly be proud of.

Yeah Beason by far. He took over the team last year and now it's his. And a lot of the sports media have noticed it too. He is going to blow up this year as far as coverage goes. Everybody will know who he is and that he plays for the Panthers.

to me the face of the franchise is the pearson everybody in and out of the league knows..thats not beason yet..he is a realtive unknown outside the NFL...take tom brady for example if you ask anybody fan or not of football most will say i have heard of tom brady..the panthers dont have that guy yet...but inside of football our face is peppers and jake..for all the wrong reasons and smith

I'm going with DeAngelo Williams... he was the one making the majority of the highlights for your team and is the true bright spot to the Panthers.

Beason is a top 3 MLB in the leauge though, he just doesn't get the Ray Lewis type of exposure. DeAngelo did some amazing things and offensive guys always get the exposure (his multiple 4 touchdown games)

Beason IMO is better then Ray or Urlacher.

Ray's main advantage is having Ed Reed behind him and a stout dline infront of him... I think the Ravens will take a drop in defense this year.

Is Beason a vocal guy?

Talent wise, he's 2nd best behind Pat Willis at the MLB spot.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
