Charlotte Extends QOs to Augustin, Brown

I hope we make some free agency splash. And I know this article is about DJ and Brown, but gawd is there any way in hell we can move Tyrus Thomas?

I believe if TT would have been dealt with, it would have been in the draft. But not one of those teams is willing to take all that money and Thomas. Not sure if there will be any team willing to take on the money and give us something in return.

Also, Diddy, I thought Kemba was going to take over since he was the 9th pick over all last year. Thought we were riding with him now and letting DJ walk?

I'm excited to see what Kemba can do with full reign over the position, but no way we should let DJ walk for nothing. I've always liked DJ and hope if he doesn't stay as the backup that we get some value for him and move him to a good team. He's a good player and a good dude.

I just think it's the logical thing to do in extending the QO to him, so we cover ourselves and guarantee compensation in some way.

But again, I have no idea why we extended the QO to UPS. I'd much rather have Dj White in tow.

One wonders if Cho is even trying at this point.

Two days of bad news in a row. The Bobcats were taking a SF. Gilchrist was the #1 SF on everyone's list, so they took him. Doesn't mean they loved him more than the other top 5 prospects, they just couldn't acquire more assets, so they had no choice.

Now they restrict Augustin & Brown.

Yeah, Cho's quit.

One would hope. With the Bobcats, expect the worst.

They couldn't have offered Augustin "LESS" to guarantee that he walks?

Not sure I understand what you are getting at with the last sentence? Or really anything that you are saying for that matter.

All we did was extend a qualifying offer. They are both young players with some value. No point in not considering retaining them. Especially Augustin. Hell, DJ could compete for the starting PG spot, and is at the very least much needed depth. You could project him having a critical roll if he were to resign.
