Every season we are wrong

Of course Kasay is better from 50 yards or longer. Why is this a debate? Here are the numbers:

Kasay is 42 of 83 or 50.7%

Mare is 19 or 43 or 44.2%

No one is debating that.

Simply said Mare's resume shows he isnt the complete asshat he was last season.

He was there 3 seasons. The 3 before that he went 59%, 72%, and 83%. I'm not saying he can't be good. But as I said, his resume says he is just as likely to be bad as he is to be good.

He choked when the game was on the line which stats dont account for

Looking at career FG made percentages tell you little. The issue with him was missing potential game winning FGs. You can be a career 81% FG kicker but if you miss a ton of crucial ones and end up being cut. He is erratic which is a big problem with FG kickers. So he might not be an asshat but he is surely isn't as good as Kasay under pressure.

Everyone knows Mare was poo last year.

I simply said his career resume shows he doesnt suck that bad.

Career - he and Kasay are both at 81%. Kasay has always been better at 50+ than Mare....

Why can you not understand that most of Kasay's misses were from long range. He attempted way more long range than Mare and has made way more. Thats why in the end they're both 81%. If you took out long range, Kasay would still dominate. You can't just look at carrer percentages and say "oh look they're both the same type of kicker herp derp".

Kasay is was a great one. He is no Kasay.... I just think he is a decent. Overpaid....but not the waste we saw last year. But I fully endorse cutting him on the spot is he misses a key 30 yarder again

I actually think he will come back and have a good year given the pressure to redeem himself. The problem with cutting him is that we will have a 3 million dollar dead salary cap hit this year if we cut him. With a June 1st exemption it could be 1.5 this year and 1.5 next year but that is still a lot of wasted money. What would work much better is for him to come back strong.

well the fox era is over so hopefully our gameplans won't be centered around fg's anymore! But if we have to get a late game winner hopefully it's kicked out of the red zone. But thats not even garunteed with mare. Extra points ain't even a sure thing with him apparently

Well if he misses 30 traders again.....it will be worth the cap hit. I mean he misses some big kicks from 30 out.....and those aren't big kicks.

He has missed 5 extra points in 13 years for a 98% success rate. I would take those odds anytime. Kasay has missed 11 in his 20 years so again few are 100% accurate.
