You said attempting to turn on. Does it ever actually come on? Ours clicks some, always has. I think its just the normal sound it makes. Its not an LCD but a Plasma. It clicks some, but then once it is on, its ok.

I had an LCD Philips tv that did that....it had to do with the circuit board and power connection. I called the manufacture, cashed in on a warrenty, i had someone repair it 3 times, then finally took it back to hh Gregg where they swapped it for a sharp.

I have a small one. 22" Samsung, about 5 years old. It's really slow to start up but works like a gem. Love mine.

I actually work for Samsung Customer Service. What model number is your TV? You may qualify for a no charge repair.

Yes...drives me crazy. Turn it on and just clicks for 30-1minute then or works

Call 1-800-SAMSUNG, and you should be eligible for a Free of Charge repair. They will replace the capacitors, and fix the problem. Just describe the symptoms, and you will be fine. If they give you any trouble, send me a PM, and I will get the issue fixed.

Make sure you have the model number and serial number when you call, it will speed up the process. Shouldn't take more than about 10 minutes to get it set up if you are prepared.

The Service center should call you the next day, or maybe the same day to set up an appointment.

thanks i called samsung as well and got a free repair, apparently its a known issue.
