Can Hardy play the DT?

Overall, Rivera has been extremely pleased with the play of both rookies, while acknowledging the Panthers have had to "take some punches like a little brother." Still, Rivera believes the experience they gained playing as rookies will be huge for the Panthers in coming years.

Do I need to link the entire internets? You guys read the same stuff I do, why is this Chinese to you?

Yeah because it was probably made 7 months ago and I'm not gonna dig through hours of interviews to find it.

Ok then it didn't happen. Look man I think the will be the guy at that spot too, but I was wondering if you had any information that led to you stating that he was the guy, because I have heard nothing of the sort.

Sure they do. I'm not going to link every article and every youtube clip from the past 8 months but it's pretty much a known thing they were disappointed in Fua and hopeful for McClain.

This is the only thing that anyone can find remotely similar to that comment and it is reversed.

"Rivera said Fua had "probably his best game" against Indianapolis while McClain struggled.

"(McClain has) kind of hit a little wall the last couple games, and we're starting to see Sione play a little better," Rivera said. "He was effective. He had two good pressures this game."

Yeah I'm sure it was audio interview, possibly on the radio. What you linked doesn't really contradict anything as it's his opinion of a couple games mid to late in the season. We can deduce that Sione is playing better and McClain is playing worse but they aren't compared to each other. Rather they are compared to their own past performance.

Basically as I remember it McClain has some tools. Mainly his quickness. While Fua is JAG.

I should be able to post my thoughts on an internet message board without providing three forms of ID and 2 sources.

You can post your own opinion, but you included the Panthers opinion without sourcing on a completely false claim. Two of them actually. The article that I posted, as I stated, is the only thing similar to this comparison bullshit you are talking about made by anyone from the Panthers. I'm sure that you just can't find it, yeah that's it. The point is what you have stated is not just your opinion and is simply poo on a wall at this point.

Yeah I don't remember any such piece of media about the Panthers being "disappointed in Fua and hopeful for McClain". It's pretty foolish to act condescending to someone who calls you out on it, and then immediately post an article in "support" of your claim, which just says that Rivera is pleased with BOTH rookies....which wasn't even your point at all.

Of course you're going to get backlash for making a pretty significant claim like that and not backing it up. Most people who spend their time on these forums are Panthers enthusiasts, so we're always looking for some new info...especially if it's a perspective from inside the organization. I can't just go around saying "Rivera said in an interview that Armanti Edwards is the most talented receiver on our roster" and expect people to take my word for it.

    • You're correct (on its face). But PFF does indeed use advanced stats to come up with their grades. Not trying to turn this into a debate about PFF (at all because it's been done ad nauseum), but here is how PFF explains it:   GRADES VS. STATS We aren’t grading players based on the yardage they rack up or the stats they collect. Statistics can be indicative of performance but don’t tell the whole story and can often lie badly. Quarterbacks can throw the ball straight to defenders but if the ball is dropped, you won't see it on the stat sheet. Conversely, they can dump the ball off on a sequence of screen passes and end up with a gaudy looking stat line if those skill position players do enough work after the catch. PFF grades the play, not its result, so the quarterback that throws the ball to defenders will be downgraded whether the defender catches the ball to notch the interception on the stat sheet or not. No amount of broken tackles and yards after the catch from a bubble screen will earn a quarterback a better grade, even though his passing stats may be getting padded. The same is true for most positions. Statistics can be misleading. A tackle whose quarterback gets the ball out of his hands quicker than anybody else may not give up many sacks, but he can still be beaten often and earn a poor grade. Receivers that are targeted relentlessly could post big-time numbers but may offer little more than the product of a volume-based aerial attack. https://www.pff.com/grades So PFF uses stats to come up with player grades and rankings.
