July 6th article out of bay area speculating Murphy being on trade block http://www.csnbayare...298&feedID=2801

From Raiders top beat writer today http://www.csnbayare...791&feedID=2539

I posted these PFF stats in the other murphy thread, figured i'd put them here for more exposure.

Heres his Profootball focus stats.

09 season, played 736 snaps(most of any receiver on team),92 Targets, 34 receptions,521 total yards, 136 yards after catch, 4 td's, 7 drops, caused 4 missed tackles and 0 fumbles.

10 played 737 snaps(2nd by about 40 snaps to Darius Heyward Bay),74 targets, 41 receptions, 609 total yards, 227 yards after catch,2 tds, 3 drops,caused 4 missed tackles and had 2 fumbles.

11 played 258 snaps (4th most at receiver) 34 targets, 15 receptions,241 total yards,87 yards after catch,0 td's, 2 drops, caused 2 missed tackles and 0 fumbles.

He was the number 1 receiver his rookie year as he was targeted twice as much as anyone else and was most productive as he led all receivers in yards and td's.

His sophmore year was more of the same, depsite getting slightly less snaps than Heyward Bay..still got more targets, receptions and yards than any other wideout on the team and unbelievably his 2 td's tied for first.

and looks like he missed the first 5 weeks of last year.

*all this being said the #1 pass catcher on the team in 09 and 10 was Zach Miller the tight end. Murphy was just the best wideout on the Raiders for those 2 years.

**Jamarcus and Gradkowski were the qb's in 09 and then Jason Campbell and Gradkowski in 2010 for the raiders.

Videos and other info is encouraged in this thread. Add what you have for all to see without having to read 100 pages.

Here's his rushing TD. His stumble isn't pretty, but he got the job done. I think I'm most excited for him as a run blocker than anything else.

Edit: Just did some reading on Murphy and apparently his recent injuries have been a sports hernia he had to have surgery on that kept him out of TC and the first 5 games of 2011, a pulled groin that made him miss a couple games later in the season, and then a hamstring that kept him out of OTAs.

Sounds like a series of freak accidents to me. I'd much rather have that than a Jeff Otah type chronic condition.

Cam is going to bring out the best in this man. Not calling Superbowl or 1000 yards but if he can stay healthy, and I believe he can, he will be at least better than Nannee.

Hope so. I believe Sir Purr was covering Nanee in practice and shutting him down.

In my expert "you tube film critique"

I say this dude can ball... Runs good routes, attacks the ball in the air, blocks very very well, and has a knack for running the end around.

This was a highlight video, and I get that... But he looks pretty darned Legit.

Looks like he might have some trouble making the first guy miss, but he's a solid route runner with above average speed for his frame and can make some decent catches. Not sure what else he'll bring but it's a good start.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
