Figured I'd just go ahead and make the thread with this jewel of an update :(

Joe Person@josephperson

Also, DR Ron Edwards and LBThomas Davis will be held out of tonight's first full pads practice, Rivera said. Precautionary move.

thought i'd clean that up for you.

anyway...not a concern. nothing to get worried over. no sense in risking injury to older guys you are trying to get 100% by throwing them into contact drills. they know their job. i'd really rather they take it easy this early on.

Newton says "he's playing the game to win. I don't go to the sideline to look at how many yards I have." Says he plays to do his part.

Newton says that he still has to get better in terms of reactions/facial expressions after bad plays.

Newton also said that the team needs the fans to "own Bank of America Stadium" this season. Get loud this year #Panthers fans.

    • yeah, Panther PR has done the Tepper is taking a backseat PR tour before.   It wasn't true at all the first time we saw them attempt that.   All the stuff you are referencing is stuff produced and put out by the Panthers.  I'm not acting like owners aren't in the war room.   I'm just saying Tepper is a proven commodity.  He is what he is.  And his tenure with BOTH his professional sports teams tell the exact same story about him.   He is not patient.  He didn't show patience last year.  He moved on from an absurd investment 2 games into the season.....and a frankly unimaginable turnaround by Bryce that was only allowed by injury reset some things.  I'm sure a billion times Raiders or Dallas or whatever fans convinced themselves their owners turned a new leaf too.  I'm not buying that.  There just isn't anything supporting Tepper isn't Tepper IMO.
    • Well last year the first team offense struggled against the Bills 3rd string defense. First string offense needed to convert a 4th down to score a TD.  If the starters play against backups and do what they are supposed to do, score easily, I’d say the reps are worth it. Would make me feel better. Unlike last preseason.
    • This right here. You also don’t want your 2 nd string oline going against their starting Dline and risk injury to whoever is taking snaps
