anyone think he could be our next steve smith? he is not as fast, but makes alot of defenders miss and has run after the catch skills. with dwill and jstew in front of him it will be hard for him to break the line up at rb, but at wr he could definitely move up.

I think that the coaching staff is going this direction but at this point I have to say I certainly don't hope to replace Smitty with this guy.

I certainly don't think the OP meant that we have him replace Steve Smith, but that he could be the next receiver phenom in the same system as Smith...

In the time it takes for a RB to learn to be a WR, Smith will be on the decline/retired

Valid point, but maybe not. A running back turned WR may make that conversion quicker than we believe. I would hope so being a fan...

i think he just has the over all skill set to be like steve smith. he is lean for a rb, that is why i was leaning towards a wr. steve smith uses his incredible athleticism and speed and will to make the plays that he does. he is not the best route runner but can get seperation, i dont think it is that big of a leap to think he could play wr.

The RB to WR learning curve is not a steep one. Reggie Bush caught over 100 balls his rookie season, mainly playing slot WR.. not saying that he could even come close to that, but it isn't a steep learning curve.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
