Bell was thrown into an impossible situation and improved as the year went, I like the line as is.

People keep saying he improved...but what supports that?

Campbell will start IMO. Ron Rivera is tied to one man. Newton. Nothing suggest Bell would take a big enough step to handle pass rushers this year. Bell IMO showed what Otah lacked...and did well for the situation (meaning he survived). Since Bell is a Rivera guy, Ron will allow him to compete for the job which he should lose. Wouldn't be right for Ron not to let him compete.

But IMO Bell has G written on him.

Ok, there is no way that Gross is changing positions. He is not a better RT than LT, that is crazy talk. He is a finesse guy not a power guy.

Not saying move Gross...but there is a likely chance we continue to get away from the power run game. We started getting away from it last year. Cam likes those read option looks. I expect more shotgun this year

Go back and rewatch, he was much improved and even Rivera has mentioned that.

I can find quotes of Ron praising our DTs, backup LBs, defending Capt and our Ss.

What specifically did Bell improve on? I just didnt see....wasn't handling pass rushers.

don't quite understand why some seem to think that bell can't improve & become a solid rt. one thing that is clear to me is that riveria will bring in people to push fringe starters to improve& if they don't he will replace them

He can improve...

Some of it is just a skill set issue. I'd like to seem him working to be a G.

not sure why so many are content with someone so bad at pass protection should be out there with Cam

that might happen sometime down the road, right now the coaches feel he should start but also have guys like wiiliams & campbell to push him. talent is important but finding 5 guys who operate well as unit is more important IMO

Ok. Lots of guys have good days in camp.

More required considering how unequipped he was dealing with the pass rush and our franchises future under center.

Bell will have to earn it in preseason. he has to prove it.

Nothing suggests Bell is better than Campbell.

But I fully agree Campbell has to earn it from Bell. Rivera is right in rewarding Bell with the seat for now

    • I'd love to have Eli as our QB. He was a proven baller in the playoffs, and still a legit franchise QB who was better than the majority of the league in the regular season. Honestly the Giants didn't build many great teams around him. Put him in a beneficial situation like Belichick, Reid, Tomlin, etc. run and he could've won more than 2 SBs if you ask me. He was on a lot of bad teams, like really bad teams, throughout his career.   Hell, swap him in for Rivers in the mid-late aughts and I bet he gets the Chargers a SB. Still think that whole draft situation was bullshit and lost respect for Eli there, but whatever.
    • Yeah but if you are talking about something like an extremely rarely used or needed play like a QB sneak, it's already a pretty off the rails argument. That doesn't factor in enough to W's and L's to be something that is particularly relevant.  If you want to talk overall arm strength, field vision, footwork, consistency, athleticism, etc on Bryce, those are all valid critiques of his game and why he hasn't been successful. But the oddball obsessions about pretty meaningless aspects are a bit bizarre. QB sneaks? Not enough 40+ yard passes? Workout regimen?? Guys....there is ample stuff to criticize without this kind of nonsense.
    • Im not saying he should, but its one more play that's off the table. Do you think the eagles would be as good without the QB sneak?
