Haruki Nakamura interview

I think Haruki is the guy that will take Martin's spot. I hear he's been running with the ones the past 3 practices.

I'm really pulling for Nakamura, if you haven't read his story; you need to. He is a great guy and I fully expect him to seize the opportunity he has been presented with, and become our starting free safety for years to come.

At camp he looks so comfortable, he's out there barking orders like he has been here for ages and that is something that this team desperately needs. We haven't had a true vocal leader in the secondary since Minter and I for one think Nakamura can be that guy.

I will definitely be getting a Nakamura jersey when he wins the starting free safety job.

You can do it Haruki!!!

In the 2010 Preseason Nakamura has shown the signs of having a breakout season as evidenced in the pre-season week-three game against the New York Giants. Nakamura not only caught an interception that Coach John Harbaugh described as being “as good a play as you’re ever going to see,” “I don’t know how he came up with the ball. He’s just a tremendous athlete. He’s a football player, through and through.” Nakamura also sacked the Giants' quarterback for a loss in that same game. He also returned a fake kickoff against the Washington Redskins

    • I want to like Woods more, but there's something about him that I don't think will translate well over to the NFL. I thought he and Banks had potential to be our pick at 19, but I'm moving more away from this....defintely on Banks.  If Freeling isn't there at 19, I hope we move back.  In the mid-20s, I'd feel more comfortable with Iheanachor or Lomu. I don't feel like Miller can play LT, though he'd be a great replacement for Moton at RT. I'm also out on Proctor for OT.
    • Of the two, Decker would be my choice, but not at the pricetag he would command.  TBH, I'm in the Salyer camp as a competent fringe starter that is better than Yosh was, but unsure if he can hold up for 17+ regular season games. My guess is he would be a gamble like others are making on Chenal, Turk, etc. in rolling the dice on a promising young guy stuck buried on a talented depth chart.
    • Yeah, leaving Miami Ohio out would be dumb. Almost as dumb as now calling the play in games the "1st round". In a field of 64 you can't tell me there's not room for a 31-1 team. Hell, I volunteer my Heels to stay at home and give them our spot. LOL
