3rd & 2...2nd & 4...defenses looking at Newton under Center with Tolbert, Stewart & Williams in the backfield in wishbone...these guys will break a lot of big runs if the Panthers run this, and this formation would also soften up the defense down the field for a quick strike.

Someone should ask Chud if we'll see this often, or once every blue moon.

i think we'll see it a lot more than people think...maybe not the wishbone, but all three on the field together. there's just way too much that can be done with those guys. i've got a feeling that tolbert will see the field more than the other two just because of the ways he can be used. still, with the talent that they all three have it would be a shame not to find ways to use all of them together. there's too many ways that they and newton can rape defenses together.

Tolbert wasn't here last season, which is the point in why WE OUGHT TO see it more this season.

I doubt we will, because of this "wrinkle" mindset, but this set should be used at least 4 or 5 times a game (I would've said more if we weren't caught up in this "rotation of backs" mindset), because there is so much that can be done out of it.

lining up in the wishbone only sounds like a great idea....

Carolina can effectively run easier with Stewart/Cam operating out of the spread option.....it buts more strain on a D IMO. D has to be prepared to play the pass fully with Cam/Stewart in the spread option looks. Wishbone takes some of the pressure off the D to a degree. You don't have the same amount of downfield concern for a D...clogs stuff up as well. Have to make more guys miss.

It would be a nice gadget play IMO, not much more.

I think it limits the huge mismatch Newton is....and that is what I want the offense dedicated to. Double Trouble probably saw the field together a max of 10 times all last season.....I doubt the trio suddenly sees it 80 times.

I think that we will see it a good bit, especially on short yardage plays. There's so many different plays that we can run out of this set. I really looking forward to it.

i can't imagine not using this frequently when we get in those situations. i don't know why it wouldn't be used. it would be pretty near impossible to stop. add in a couple solid red zone targets, incl. smitty and there are really a lot of possibilities and all of them lethal.

it does nothing to limit newton. it gives him more options and that is what makes sense for the offense to be dedicated to. the more quality options you give newton, the more effective he becomes.

i just can't see how people don't realize this.
