I would say we have 3, don't sleep on Anderson.

I love me some Anderson, he's a very good football player and I'm glad he'll be a Panther for a long time yet, but coverage is not his strength. He's not very good at it. He's very good at just about everything else though.

I dont see why people just ignore tackles, and say hes not goof cause he cant do this or that. last time i checked we could use guys on d that know how to tackle. are you gonna say Kris Jenkins sucked cause he was no good in coverage? No you wouldnt, we all know hes not taking the job from beason, anderson, or luke, but it should be ok to say hey this kid had a hell of a night. And i saw him have a lot of those good nights last year. the kid is good not bad, sure he has some holes in his game, but im glad heas a panther and if you want to clown him for going all out and leaving on the field, simply because he sucks in coverage than say that poo to beason and anderson as well.

Judging a LB by tackles is only part of the equation. I don't think he's bad by any stretch, but he certainly has things to work on. He wasn't just bad in coverage Saturday, he was terrible Nd probably half his tackles came from opportunities from his lack of coverage. He's a very good ST and an ample back up.

He's a good player, give him a break.

Agree. He has a nose for the ball and is usually around it. He is an adequate reserve LB and good special team's player. Coverage is not a strength though. He doesn't have the physical tools to be great but I've got no problem with him being a Panther.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
