I have not commented on Godfreys extension. So how can i be suggesting anything, other than point out the obvious, that you are being an idiot, saying something i didn't.

The Panthers have NEVER HAD ELITE SAFETIES.

I do find it amazing that the same people who worshipped Minter, talk bad of Godfrey. Their play is very similar to each other. Both are better tacklers, than coverage guys, both tend to free lance, and get caught out of position.

The only difference is Minter was a more vocal leader, and more involved in the community, publicly.

Stats alone will never tell the story of a safety.

So why use them as a soap box?

Well when you reply to my post....calling the point I was making idiotic.....the reasonable assumption would mean you think the opposite. Not exacty puttin words in your mouth.

Last I checked, more kids use words like "idiot" than adults. That's called simple name calling....don't spin that as adult.

I haven't mentioned Minter once. He is overrated in some circles. But I am not using stats as the end all be all for Godfey sucking....I have been saying it loudly since his rookie year and there where little stats available then....just watching him. A failed Fox conversion.

Godfrey had never played a NFL snap under Rivera. That was a Hurney move.....all those fat deals where Hurney moves trying to impress after the clusterphuck they created keeping Fox yet starting a rebuild with him still in house.

first year HC can't pick up a phone and call a GM...yeah, I know you said you were already I talks with this Godfrey kids agent working on his extension.....but let's not do that I watched some tape.

Who is Hurney trying to impress? Richardson and the rest of the panthers FO are not unintelligent or so eaily impressed enough to be fooled wether Godfrey was good enough based on a him being resigned.

Hurneys job or reputation was not going to be determined on wether Gofrey was signed If anything, the signing increased risk because if Godfrey continues to struggle it will be on him.

I think part of the issue with Godfrey is that he's a thin cornerback trying to play SS. His body type doesn't suit that position. He has a slender build..compared to other SS in the league. Maybe that's why he can't tackle worth a damn

Not the problem. When Godfrey fugs up in run support it is usually due to improper angles. Yes of course he gets trucked every now and then, but everyone does. In today's NFL more FS and SS have that slender CB in order to keep up with the WR in this 4-5 wide sets everyone is going to.
