As a cheat sheet/reference point here's last years 53 for week 1 including in actives and those who did not play a snap

http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/gamecenter/55173/ARZ_Gamebook.pdf

The inactive's were

QB 2 J.Clausen, CB 22 J.Thomas, FB 45 J.Felton, LB 54 J.Williams, T 75 L.Ziemba, WR 81 K.Pilares

Important to note..Goodson was week 1 KR and Edwards was PR

This years roster

Last year our opening day 53 man roster had

3 RB'S vs 2 this year

3 TE'S vs 4 this year

3 DT'S vs 4 this year

4 DE'S vs 5 this year

8 LB's vs 7 this year

5 CB's vs 4 this year

My guess on this weeks inactive's

1.Clausen

2.Edwards

3.Byers

4.Brockel

5.D.J. Campbell

6.Onatulu- is he healthy yet?

7.Gary Williams

You had Brockel out at #4. I switched it with Hartstock, for above reasons. I actually seen in the NFCS chat where PatY said that Joe Adams may be inactive and brought along slow....idk about that, but it could happen.

I hope not. Not in regards to PR

6. Alexander

Hmm, agree except for Alexander. not sure he is ready to see the field much but I think we go heavy on the DEs. That would leave us at 4 wouldn't?

    • Nfl leaders don't look at the population of just the city itself.  Charlotte has three of the top fifty combined statistical areas within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive.  Charlotte, Greensboro/WS/High Point, and Greenville Spartanburg.  Those three statistical areas include nearly 7 million people.  Other than Raleigh, the only one in the top fifty within an hour and half of raleigh is Greensboro.  So only about 4-5 million people.  Charlotte has many more people to draw from.   Also, many of the surrounding communities for Raleigh are not native born.  If memory serves, many still refer to Cary as Containment area for relocated Yankees.  One of the reasons the Canes do so well is a significant portion of the population are people who moved from Northern Areas.  Would that population translate into support for a NFL team?  Hard to say, but I see a tremendous amount of Giants/Jets jerseys in the triangle when I forced to endure the crazy traffic on 40/85.
    • This will also be prime Training Camp meltdown time on here lol. Preseason game 1 August 8th, i'm guessing camp starts around July 25-27th
