Chud Has To Stop Ignoring The Runnning Game

getting chunks of 4 and 5 yards with your running game will do wonders for your offense

Its not about more attempts....its being effective when you do run the ball. create more 2nd and short/ 3rd and short....

Running the football is necessary and its a basic fundamental to any offense

It's also when you run the ball. I agree with beaston it would have been a great time to start using a traditional offense after Adams big punt return.

yea the game momentum was totally on our side and we could've knocked them on their ass and i dont know if they would have come back because our defense was on in the 2nd half.

right after that punt return...wouldve been nice to see us line up in a jumbo set and establish some type of balance. we were in the driver seat but we pissed it away

Are the coaches still not comfortable with Cam under center perhaps?

I think Chud just got spoiled and a big head after watching what Stewart and Cam were able to create out of those spread read looks. Thought he could insert anyone there and a D would still be stressed.

When Stewart is healthy it will work again. It is a very simple thing. I think Chud foolishly thought it was just great play calling more than stumbling into 2 guys who did it every week in college and are both oddly built to run it in the NFL.

It's not necessarily him ignoring it that pisses me off. What blows my mind is these shitty run formations he uses. Quit running a shotgun run offense. That is the worst crap I've seen. Last year it was the same way. Everytime we ran that we were negative in yards or a very short gain. Run a damn I formation and run some stretches or counters. I know this isn't madden and I can't just call and make plays but this draw shotgun bull poo has got to end. It's just ineffective. It's like using a wildcat. It's cool like once a game but no more. Play some power running with Tolbert leading the way damn

Last year wasn't the same way....it flat out works with Stewart and set up the bulk of our highlights from midseason on. That was a large factor in why we were the most effective rushing team in the NFL last year.

We weren't running a shotgun draw today. it looks comparable....but blocking assignments are different and the RB immediately gets the ball.

    • I think the last time I watched the Pro Bowl was that year Sean Taylor blew up that poor punter. LOL
    • I don’t go back and look at the espn but there live it definitely said 1 shot 1 goal when it happened. I guess they had not added them yet. Still allowing goals that early is rough. Blue line is a total disaster still. Even with Slavin back. Miller and Nikishin keep making mistakes after mistakes.
    • I generally disagree with the concept of picking a position because of value early in the draft. For instance, if there's a really good safety, RB or ILB at pick 10, I'm choosing him over a project WR or DE. Better players make the team better. A bunch of ok players will give you an ok team. The number 1 goal of the draft should be to improve the overall talent on the team. Not to fill positions of need.  Deciding beforehand that you're picking a LT in the first or second round because Ickey went down is not the way to improve the team. Now if Dan has similar grades on 2 or 3 players and one happens to be a LT, then yeah go for it. But don't pass on your guy at ILB because you have a gap at LT or need to improve the pass rush with a DE. When those guys don't pan out then you haven't improved your team. But that LB could have been a franchise cornerstone for years to come. See Luke Kuechly and Christian McCaffrey.
