Dumb Saints** fans on Saints** Report

I actually am a pretty positive fan....I just tend to talk about the 3-4 questionable things often here. Don't feel the need to discuss all the good. Good is good. I just want us to get better.

I actually think we should win this game more so than the one last week.

The more I read and look back on last weeks game. I blame Chud's stubborn attitude towards

running a traditional offense and trying to be to creative.

Yep...I foolishly would have bet money the so called plan B without Stewart he spoke of would have actually been an offense geared toward Williams. Chud got carried away....and I believe Newton is his crutch. He is creative....too often his gameplan is just Cam however. His lack of adjustment was as Fox like as anything seen since post Fox.

I like Rivera...and Rivera IMO is doing what Fox didnt in many ways. The bad part is....Fox made sure his thumb print was on the offense....especially late. I think Rivera needs to manage Chud better

I guess - but being able to absorb a turnover with how prolific our offense was last year is kinda on them. We were putting up points (most of the time) so its not like we weren't able to score. Specifically with our team last year we needed the D to be able to once or twice help recover from a rookie mistake instead of responding with "well Offense we need to do score EVEN MORE now" after every INT.

You could even make the case that the stop didn't need to be after the INT ... we just needed a few more stops in general to let our Offense, which was scoring, open up a cushion. With even a middle of the road defense that stat looks much different.

I smell what you're cooking. It would be nice to see Cam and the offense get the ball on the opponents half of the field to start some drives due to take-aways. In that stat of being 6-0 without a Cam turnover versus 0-11 when he does, I wonder in how many of those 11 losses did we win the TO battle as a team? I mean, him throwing an INT shouldn't doom this team, we were still scoring plenty of points.

But where were our take-aways??

a real stat that i find troublesome, we are 6-0 when Cam doesn't turn the ball over and 0-11 when he does.

that mostly speaks to the fact that our defense is reeky balls and speaks to the quality of the defenses cam has faced and succeeded against.

no complete team is doomed by its quarterback turning the ball over just once unless it's full of holes. this statustic is only troublesome as it relates to the team as a whole and should not be considered an accurate reflection of cam.

Was on Saints***** Report reading a thread where they claimed in the last 9 games Newton only has 6 pass completions go for 20 or more yards. Others then chime in about how film has caught up to Cam....that the big play is gone.

Last Sunday he had 7 go for 20+

As a rookie QB he had the 5th most receptions go for 20+

The stat mentioned was directly from Numbers Never Lie.

Here is another interpretation of stat from NFC South Blog yesterday:

Legend or myth? There is a perception out there that Carolina’s Newton is a great downfield passer. But that might be a myth. Newton hasn’t completed more than two passes on throws of more than 20 yards downfield in his past nine games. He did start off quickly in that department last season, accomplishing the feat in five of his first eight games, but he has been quiet since.

So the article says Cam hasn't had more than two 20+ yard throws in a single game over the span of last 9 games, yet you mock the "dumb fan" by explaining Cam had 7 of those throws in just the last game! Yikes, how embarrassing, you call someone dumb for stating a correct stat, and then offer a completely wrong stat to back up your intelligence! FAIL!

Again, he had 7 pass plays that went for 20+ yards on Sunday.......it proved the stat posted on that board wrong. The post on the Saints*** board said pass plays.

If you go by throws that travel 20 yards in the air before hitting a WR...the stat you just claimed of two is wrong

Week 1 stats

7 receptions for 20 yards

3 completions thrown in the air 20 yards

This is the post on the Saints* board

Cam Newton big plays in past 9 games

In the second half of last year amd first game this year, how many passes of 20 yards or more has Cam Newton thrown in those 9 games?

Answer: 6 completions of 20+ yards in 9 games, they just said it on Number Never Lie.

So basically no big plays. They also rushed for 10 yards the entire game last week, so that will probably something they try to correct for our game so our Dline and LBs better be ready?

That is an inaccurate statement. Carolina has tons of 20+ yard passes and Cam has tons of throws 20+ yards throws in those 9 game. Big play has been there

The stat misinterpreted was not having at least 3 20+ yard throws in the air in a single game.....

So yeah, it was a typical Saints* FAIL.....they took a stat and spun it to try to claim something completely false....

But again, the Pat Y stat is still false....Bc in that window he still had a game with at least 3 20 yard in air pass completions. Week 13

our defense played good enough to win sunday and a handful of times last year. Our offense last year blew a few games. Just don't know why people on this board are so over confident in our offense when has never been consistent.

Our offense seemed to consistently disappear in 3rd quarters. Hated watching the third quarter last season.
