Scott Van Pelt thinks Cam has a "me me me" attitude

SVP and the cohost on his radio show where talking about Cam. They acknowledged he has skills, but they said there was something they didn't like about him. They couldn't put their finger on it, but they brought up some points about his college issues and how "he celebrates away from his teammates in the endzone".

I called him out on twitter telling him to stop hating on Cam, and he responds with "@notthefakeSVP: hate? Grow up. I don't love the me me me as I acknowledge his greatness."

What a tool. These national media guys love bumping their gums about poo they have no idea about. /rant

SVP is one of the few at ESPN that I do like... he's obviously entitled to his opinion and we're obviously entitled to disagree with him...

I think what a lot of people see in Cam is that his intense desire to win comes across as arrogance... I don't think it's that at all. I just think he wants to win so badly, it comes across in a way some people don't like.

he also wants to be one of the greatest to play the game and thinks he can achieve that. people don't like that.

That's generally the way it works until that person actually does it... Jordan is about as arrogant about his abilities as they come, but he backed it up with 6 Championships and some gold medals, MVPs and scoring titles to prove it...

I think Cam will have plenty of bandwagon fans, and a lot fewer haters after our first couple of super bowl wins.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
