The next level..

Well considering we have been to a Superbowl and won our division 3 times since 95 I'd say we've "reached the next level" at some point in our franchise history.........now if you are referring to this specific team, tough to tell. Offense has to start playing better, every position.

4 winning seasons in almost 20 years is nowhere near next level.

I think you don't understand the phrasing "at some point reached"

not everyone reaches 'next level' potential season in and season out, christ do you work for ESPN or something

Ok.. I mean reach the next level and stay there ala the steelers which jerry claims to want but never puts a serious effort into doing.

When we build a team suited to play in this era...

Defensively we aren't close

What era would our defense be good in?

Can't stop the run(check)

Can't stop the pass(check)

No pass rush(check)

10-20 yard cushion for the WRs(check)

Don't know what a slant route is(check)

Can't tackle(check)

Take bad angles(check)

No reason to add more to the list(check)

Honestly the only time our D was pretty good was when we had kevin greene and lamar lathon.. after that it went to pure poo.

    • Taking only players from the sheet that are realistically available in or after the listed round, I’d like… 1st: DT Caleb Banks (Styles not realistic) 2nd: LB Jacob Rodriguez 3rd: OT Best available from Bowry, Barber, and Casey 4th: CB Daylen Everette 5th: S Jalen Huskey 6th: RB Adam Randall 7th: IOL Best available from Lemieux, Dawkins, Leausa, and Brose   I know nothing about some of the players listed, but it seems like that would be the best way it could fall for now. I’m sure the list of who we meet will change a ton, and there will also be players we don’t meet with to keep quiet. I’d love to pick up Randall in the late rounds.
    • Not what I said. They know within the building why we aren't utilizing TEs more. If the rumors were true that we were seriously pursuing a couple of decent receiving TEs that strongly points toward a lack of quality receiving TEs currently on the roster. Does that mean we consider drafting one at 19? I don't know, but it wouldn't shock me and if we did there's only one guy it would be. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see TE drafting somewhere in the first three rounds.
    • Yeah, I don’t know. Tepper was behind the Bryce selection. Behind firings and hiring over his lack of development.  He doesn’t have to literally tell them their hands are tied for them to know this. It is in the air constantly. The Canales Bryce play calling was even portrayed by more than one person as Canales failing Bryce, instead of Bryce being responsible for his own performance (except when he does well, then it is all him). Now they have an extra coach in, to help the new OC get results from this QB.  The atmosphere is not welcoming to prototypical young QBs that have talent. You get Jake Plummer types or old vets. I think we are stuck.
