Concerned about Cam - Bayless vs Smith

i avoid espn and nfl.com after a loss what did they say?

Talked about how concerned they are about Cam moving forward. Skip says he has his concern at a 5 while Stephen says its a 1. They talked about his demeanor a little bit which SAS says he liked. He says he likes to see a player look disgusted after a loss, he doesnt want to see a player get comfortable with a loss. Neither of them were fans of his celebration after his score. But overall it came down to Cams demeanor which SAS is a big fan of.

Watching Cam reminds me of one of those well-to-do, good looking guys who has had everything pretty much handed to him. He's charming and talented and has never really had to struggle to get anything he wanted. Consequently, he's never really had to fight through adversity and doubt and I would guess it is all new to him. Hopefully he'll learn sitting alone with a towel over your head doesn't make the problem go away.

I like how SaS said Cam is on the verge of pleading for help. He said JR has to notice we got blown out on nation TV and the coaches looked totally unprepared to go up against the reining superbowl champs. Coaches and coordinators are on watch and have to help Cam or Cam is going to go elsewhere for help. losing like that is unacceptable.

i'm assuming you are talking about his football life, and not his life off the field?

I think his good looks, charm and talent have gotten him pretty much anything he wanted concerning football. That he's not had to struggle with loss and doubt before is showing in his demeanor and performance.

I really have no idea what his life was like off the field.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
