Raven's Crowd

some girl on twitter got RT from stewart and davis with her suggestion of going from one side of the stadium to the other with "keep pounding" similar to the way "tar-heels" is done in chapel hill. not sure some of the fans I saw in week 2 would participate, but I would.

that bullsh*t chant was something I thought only existed in dreams.

Bravo, Baltimore.

Yeah, did you notice the deliberate pause between chants? It allowed better timing so it didn't get washed out with a fragmented cadence. Because it was well timed, it was much louder. And it was angry; you could hear the fury as opposed to college crowds who just giggle and think it's cool to yell "bullsh*t" in unison.

Oh yeah - no one breaks down crowd chants like me.

The stadium people were trying to get them to chant "defense" by doing the two drum beats.

They stopped the drum beat I think when the realized what the crowd was doing.

But then they started it back a minute later as if they said, "screw it, this is awesome".

All this talk of corporate sponsors and what not. When do you cheer? On defense!!! Its hard to be insane when teams go up and down up and down. This city can be loud, the stadium has rocked and literally shaken before. A defense that hits someone in the mouth will shut away fans up and get people into the game. It is the players job to make people loud. If I do a shitty job at work no one applauds me. I do my part, but I understand the lack of enthusiam from others. The solution is simple. QUIT SHITTING THE BED

The Ravens crowd was rocking, no doubt.

I've been going to Panther games since day 1 and it does rock when there is something to get excited about. The games against the 49ers (when they were good), especially the MNF game, and playoff games were electric. If we're guilty of anything, it's being fair-weather fans. If the Panthers start winning consistently and get in the playoff chase, then BOA will rock again. There are plenty of teams that would be happy with our fanbase.

They've tried it. It failed. Fans were quiet as can be.

Well it would truly help if a lot of the pussy PSL owners would quit putting their tix up for grabs on e-bay so other teams fans can take over our house....if you don't want your seats then sell them to a fan that WILL show up on game days!!!

With no playoff wins since 2005, can you blame them?

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
