nobody in their right mind would think we were taking a quarterback with that pick.

no leverage = no trade

The Rams were steadfast in sticking with Sam Bradford too, and they did okay. Teams bidding against each other for the pick creates leverage. Geno Smith and Matt Barkley need to have high demand to get a good haul

Anyone who holds a top5 pick next year is looking to get something close to what the Rams got this year. From the looks of it most teams that may end up with a high pick are teams with future franchise QB already. (Titans, Detriot, Miami and us, excluding Oakland, Jax, Chiefs, Browns)

Geno Smith and Barkley will end up battling to the end to see who's going first unless someone else moves up. And if somehow both of them ends up 1 and 2, now Logan Thomas may pops out due to his physical attributes.

Def a team like the Cardinals, Jets, Bills, Chiefs, heck even the Cowboys will want to trade up.

Hypothetical....if we do end up with a new coaching staff next year....would they pull the trigger on a QB? New regime wants their own guy....I doubt it though, too many more needs right now, we have a good young core though

I know it's a serious question from you but really? Who would be dumb enough to do that?

JR and Hurney or the new GM will bring in a coach who will work with Cam. And who wouldn't want to have a QB like Cam to work with.

As bleak as the Panthers season looks, it seems incredibly unlikely that they'll lose more than the Browns, Jags, Bills, Chiefs, or Jets to get a top 2 or even top 5 draft pick. We would have to blatantly tank

We will probably be picking in the top 10 again next draft. Our biggest needs are FS, DT, WR, G, TE, and T. If we were to do the draft today, we would have the 6th overall pick.

1-Cleveland

2-Tennessee

3-New Orleans

4-Kansas City

5-Jacksonville

6-Carolina

As we all know, the Saints** don't have a first. So really we would be picking 5th overall.

1-Cleveland - Geno Smith

I don't see Cleveland sticking with old man Weeden too long if they continue to be a doormat all season, especially since they will likely have a new regime next season (Again)

2-Tennessee - Barkevious Mingo

Tennessee doesn't really have a dominant pass rusher to make opposing offenses pay, no disrespect to Morgan and Wimbley (They haven't done sht). Not only would one of these players be BPA at this pick, but Tennessee is sticking with their man in Jake Locker. They like what they have in him. For now. So no QB 2nd overall.

3-Haha fug the aints**

4-Kansas City - Barkley

I think KC has finally gotten the message, the Matt Cassell experiment is over. Lucky them, one of the top two QBs dropped into their laps because the Taints** are dirty fugers.

5-Jacksonville - Jonathan Hankins

Despite Miami using a top 10 pick on the 3rd rated QB in the draft this year, I don't see that happening again. Not Jacksonville anyways. If there is a regime change, you might see Tyler WIlson or Tyler Bray if he decides to come out. God help him if he does. But as of right now I would have to put them taking probably the top defensive player on the board not named Mingo.

And here we are at 6 with the pick of the litter.

Jarvis Jones

Bjoern Werner

Eric Reid

Jonathan Jenkins

Luke Joeckel

Keenan Allen

Sam Montgomery

Star Lotulelei

Justin Hunter

Jonathan Banks

Take your pick, fellas.

    • hiring matt rhule and giving him full control was maybe the worst singular decision this franchise has ever made outside of Rae Caruth
    • Vikings bring back WR Thielen from Panthers Vikings get: WR Adam Thielen, conditional 2026 seventh-round pick, 2027 fifth-round pick Panthers get: 2026 fifth-round pick, 2027 fourth-round pick Vikings grade: A- Panthers grade: C+ The Vikings have re-united with their longtime receiver Adam Thielen. Assuming the conditions of the 2026 pick headed to Minnesota are met, the Vikings will have moved back two rounds in next year's draft and one round in 2027's draft to acquire the single year remaining on the 35-year-old receiver's contract. This is fine business. The Vikings' receiver depth will be tested early this season, as WR3 speedster Jalen Nailor recovers from a hand injury and WR2 Jordan Addison serves a three-game suspension. Depth receiver Rondale Moore had a season-ending knee injury early this offseason, leaving rookie Tai Felton and veteran Tim Jones as the depth behind Justin Jefferson to start the season. Thielen should slot right into a familiar offense and provide a good safety blanket for young quarterback J.J. McCarthy, who needs strong early performances in September to boost his confidence and generate some positive momentum. I like the deal a lot for that reason: McCarthy won't spend the first three starts of his NFL career endeavoring to make up for bad receiver play. This is actually a bigger risk for the Panthers than it appears. From Week 8 on last season -- the stretch in which quarterback Bryce Young came back and looked solid -- Thielen was the Panthers' best receiver. Sure, guys like Jalen Coker and Ja'Tavion Sanders were having breakout games, and the backs were getting involved as pass catchers, but it was Thielen who drove the ship. Thielen averaged 2.47 yards per route run in that stretch, which was the 14th best number in the NFL. He also caught 80% of his targets when Coker and Xavier Legette caught 63.2% and 56.4%, respectively. Thielen was so valuable that the Panthers gave him a raise in March worth $1.5 million to encourage him to stave off retirement. The drafting of first-round receiver Tetairoa McMillan always foretold a decrease in target share for Thielen. But keeping Thielen around for another year would have helped smooth the transition. Now the Panthers enter the season with a starting receiver trio (McMillan, Coker and Legette) full of big-play potential but no proven chemistry with Young over the middle of the field. That's an important cornerstone of the Panthers' offensive system that needs replacing. -- Solak
