who in the huddle is rooting for mike vick?

Serving his time means he gets out of Jail, not get his old job back. Lets see if he meets Goodell's criteria to return to the NFL.

You go on to say two wrongs don't make a right and then use that exact justification in your argument. It doesn't matter what other people do, it matters what he does. As for Stallworth, has he been tried and convicted? If not then the NFl won't do anything until the justice system plays it out. Vick wasn't suspended until he was convicted and sentenced. And remember that a big reason given for why he was suspended was that he lied to Goodell while questioning him. The suspension was automatic when he went to prison. How he responds to Goodell now and what he does to make up for his behavior will determine his future reinstatement in the NFL. As for Little it occured under Tagliabue not Goodell so no connection. And Stevens has not been convicted of rape although he is a scumbag to the highest degree, IMO. People are innocent until proven guilty. Once guilty they have to prove they are a changed man. It isn't that difficult to understand.

My bad P55, IIRC, I thought vick was suspended from the team before he was ever charged or convicted while he was under investigation. Then the NFL officially suspended him after he was charged and found out he had lied to the commish.

As far as Stallworth, I know he hasn't been charged or convicted, but it's pretty clear cut when a guy blows a BAC double the legal limit after he hit a man who was legally crossing the street. I brought that up b/c he killed a man, and the Browns allowed him to continue activities as usual even though he is awaiting trial. As I said, IIRC, Vick was not suspended by the Falcons when the initial talk came up, but the longer it lingered, the team told him to stay away until it was resolved before he was ever charged. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.

That's why I said "two wrongs don't make a right, but..." It was intentional.

And as to your last three sentences, that's my sentiment exactly... I'm saying people should layoff of him b/c I have a feeling that when your cousin and close friends sell you out and turn on you to avoid getting a similar punishment, it may change your outlook on some things. They said he contacted the humane society while in jail to ask them to work with him on campaigning against dog fighting. Sure, it was most likely influenced by his legal team as well... But, I gotta think the guy was a little moved to do it himself as he was sitting in a jail cell for a year having to think about what put him there. But, as I said earlier, people have to give him a chance to redeem himself and then let the results speak for themselves.

I'm wondering if virgina will go after him still? If they do he doesn't have a chance to play again. They'll light him up for 10 year minimum for the dog fighting felony.

I thought he already agreed to a plea deal with them that served concurrent with his federal sentence?

keep on building that list. you're doing a bit of stretching but not naming anyone that i am going to defend the actions of. and what is this "your last president and vice" crap. trying to make it political? good luck. he was just as much my president as he was yours unless you don't live in the US.

explain what a thug is, alright?

I don't remember exactly what order everything happened but I believe that the NFL policy is to let the justice system play out and then punish or suspend. Charles Grant is still playing as well given he hasn't gone to court and resolved the shooting in a bar incident. And if remember correctly Plaxico Burris hasn't been suspended even though he has charges pending for discharging a weapon and the list goes on. The issue would be that if you suspend him and he is found innocent the league would be in trouble. That is why Stallworth hasn't been suspended although it seems pretty clear he is guilty. On the other hand if the behavior itself justifies the suspension whether or not you get convicted ( as in the Pacman Jones case) then you can be suspended without it. So Vick could have been suspended if it was proven he lied even before he was convicted but again it was a year ago and I don't remember all the specifics. Other might. But you get my point.

As for what to do about him, that is up to Goodell and if he is convinced he should be reinstated then he will be. In any case I surely hope he wouldn't come here. We don't need the headache and I still don't like him.

What he did was horrible. Im sorry but killing dogs is like sending your kid to the Neverland ranch. You should be punished harshly for it. With that said I think alot of other NFL players should have been punished just like Vick. Im sorry but the guy is still ad douche and no one can tell me different.

I think he ceratainly deserves another shot in the NFL.

he doesn't "deserve" anything and he certainly isn't "owed" anything (not that you said that). he's going to have to go around begging for an opportunity and really shouldn't be given one without some serious stipulations in the contract requiring him to hold to much higher standards off the field than he has ever shown himself able to do.

he's going to be lucky if he gets a chance in the NFL. he might get a chance but he most certainly doesn't deserve one.
