I'm in over my head

I have some of that already. I wonder how could I make it slightly rounded so that it wraps around her front?

Is it flexible at all? If so, you could try to rig it between two objects on a curve and run a hot steam vaporizer/humidifier under it, the kind you would use if you were sick.

what about some thin, pliable sheet metal? i know you can get that stuff at home depot or lowe's, but not sure how easy it is to cut. if it's going to be covered in fabric you could easily pad any sharp corners and edges.

That may work. I worry about it being too flexible, I don't want the thing I made to break in half.

I would love to have a 1/4" piece of rigid plastic like what those Little Tykes outdoor toys are made of.

This past weekend we made swords and throwing knives out of wooden yardsticks and paint stirrers. That was fun! I cant wait to paint them. I'll post pics of that when we're done.

Okay, forget the sheet metal idea. Go get some cheap acrylic sheets from Home Depot and use a heat source to bend them. You'd get the perfect curve you want, it'd be sturdy, and you wouldn't have to worry about it bending back.

I could do that. I may even have a piece of it out in the garage.

If its only 1/4in plywood, you can probably soak it in water fora few hours then let it dry with the bend in it. They do have a "flexible" kind of plywood, its basically just has many small cuts up & down that allow it to bend around what you need.... Looks great LiaG...

I am damn impressed with this LIAG....very nice.

I am bummed that I will be out of town on Halloween. Always love taking the kids out....youngest is 8 and he is at the age where he really loves it.

But, gotta to to Scotland on business all week.....at least it is on the Corp Jet, so I don't have to hassle with security and boarding at the airport.

you know what else you could do? Spray the whole back with "Great stuff" foam and then cut it down to make it flat... that should stiffen it up nicely, conform to your shape, and you can use it (along with a little glue to hold the buckles in place.)

I didn't mention before, it looks freaking great, my mom could never make stuff like that for me.
